Two couples spent 3 nights at the hotel in August, central location near to many bars, not far from the bus depot (handy for the bus to the airport) and easy access for Belfast attractions. Hotel has a modern feel with an open plan layout in the bar and restaurant area. Service with the exception of the weekend breakfast staff, was well below what you would expect from this class of hotel. Reception not very welcoming and hit and miss what information you got from them i.e. breakfast details, wifi etc. On occasions staff appeared to be overworked and managers appeared to ignore waiting guests and disappeared into back office. An empty bottle of vodka was found in one of the rooms when we checked in and remained there for the entire stay. When mentioned this to reception, the manager became very defensive and suggested that one of our party had left it there and therefore the staff didn't clear it away when tidying rooms etc. Had drinks in the bar and one occasion had to clear the table ourselves with no acknowledgement of bar staff. Overall impression we got was that guests were an annoyance. If you don't really want customers to stay, then suggest you don't run a hotel. Wouldn't stay there again.…
The hotel is an execllent location, within walking distance of the city center and all the good places to eat and drink. Staff where nice and the brekfast was excellent. One small issue was the room we stayed in had paint chipped, and marks on the walls and in the bathroom, could do with a lick of paint to freshen the room up, but overall an excellent stay and I would certainly stay again if visiting Belfast.
This is a super little hotel in the centre of Belfast, very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a great meal in the restaurant and excellent service from the staff. This is our second visit and we will definitely come again!
The room was very inviting. The bed was very comfortable. I had an early morning flight so the breakfast in a bag proved most useful. if you leave your luggage at reception insist that the reception staff put the luggage in the storeroom.
The Maldron Hotel Chain are basically business hotels. The Belfast City hotel is much larger than the Dublin, Kevin Street hotel. Both are clean, modern and convenient. No amenities, however. Just a single bottle of combined body wash / shampoo. An empty box of Kleenex. No lotion. No shampoo. No conditioner. No soap. And NO room clean up unless you specifically ASK FOR IT. There is a sign in the room to that effect, but my fault for not reading it carefully. So when our room wasn’t cleaned up one of the two days we stayed there, the fault was ours. Just be aware you must ASK for your room to be serviced.
Entering room it’s had a potent smell of damp, during evening could not let smell out of room with opening window as street noise was too loud for toddler. Big wet patch on floor in corner of room adjacent to bathroom. Reeked of damp smell. Bathroom had pieces of think black hair from previous guest in numerous areas, side of bathtub on outside looks like has never been cleaned, on and floor around bin was so filthy, tissue holder had sticky brown splashes on it, seats in room were stained on seat pad. Not relaxing at all as really dirty.
Just two weekend nights spent here when the hotel was very busy. Good: All staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, beds were comfortable, air con worked well, and breakfast was great. Less good: Too noisy outside to have the window open at night. Our room was fine on arrival however the servicing was poor; cups and glasses weren’t changed, insufficient towels supplied. Plus underneath the beds needs cleaning. The sign advertising ice machines on certain floors probably needs to be taken down as they don’t seem to work. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and I would recommend it
We booked an over night stay in Belfast with EasyJet and they automatically booked us this hotel. We were really happy with it! It was right in the centre with plenty of pubs around it. Shopping centre wasn’t far and it took us around about half hour on the bus from the airport costing £8 a person. Our room was very clean and spacious. Bed was comfy too! We had breakfast included the next day. It was help yourself with plenty to choose from. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed here for 5 nights in July. Just myself and my husband we arrived to Belfast before 3pm so wasn’t expecting our room to be ready, we was surprised to find out it was ready for us. At check in they explained they didn’t tidy your room unless you left a sign on the door asking for it to be done, if we needed anything just ask at reception. We was more than happy with this we made our beds each morning and had a little tidy up like you would at home. We run out of toilet roll one day so asked for some more they was in our room when we returned. We stayed in Belfast on the 12th July we hadn’t realised it was such a big thing in Belfast as we don’t come from there. Having found this out on the Monday evening we managed to book a table for dinner at the hotel restaurant they was more than accommodating. The meal was reasonably priced and was very tasty. We had drinks in the bar on the Monday evening all the staff were very friendly. The room was pleasant we was at the back near an empty building luckily because of the bank holiday they didn’t bother us at all. The towels are small but you make do they get you dry after your shower. I had no complaints it was a pleasant little stay. The location is perfect near everything you will need.…
Good sized, clean, very quiet room that just needs better towels to improve it. Took the Airport Express bus from Belfast International Airport and it's just a 5 min walk from Europa Bus Station to the hotel. Great, convenient location to explore centre and use buses to get further afield (£3.50 all day ticket). Staff at breakfast were very friendly, Reception team not as good. Did online check in before arrival but took a long time to get a key with receptionist retreating to back office several times with no explanation as to what was taking so long. Several great restaurants within easy walking distance.
