With the Covid Pandemic we had cancelled our holidays abroad for this year. Now that hotels are beginning to re open, we fancied a just a couple of nights away. We weren't quite sure what to expect and were a little nervous as to how different things would be from normal and how safe we would feel. Hand sanitizer was at the entrance and arrows clearly directed us to reception. We enjoyed a smooth check in by Janetta who explained that things were a little different than normal. Breakfast time had to be booked in advance to avoid over crowding and the room would not have a daily tidy during our two night stay. We were delighted to be upgraded and an immaculately clean corner room awaited us. At breakfast, we were greeted and looked after brilliantly by GM Michael. I had called the hotel in advance explaining my gluten allergy and Micheal assured me that there were options ready for me. We were given a menu to make our breakfast choices. The food arrived hot and freshly cooked by Chef Marcel. It was delivered personally to our table by our server Jess instead of the usual self service buffet. All staff wore masks and gloves and were super-careful about cleaning the tables and chairs in between guests. We felt really safe throughout the meal. The staff are led by a highly efficient Manager whom I later saw outside picking up litter and sorting out the rubbish bin in 90' heat, whilst immaculately dressed in a suit! Clearly a Manager who does not mind pitching in and getting his hands dirty! We loved our mini break on Swansea. The hotel is right next to a huge and very sandy beach. We enjoyed walking in the Mumbles direction one day and the harbour the next. We both really enjoyed our time here, feeling safe and well cared for throughout. We'll definitely be back! Thank you all and we'll done!!

Hello all, so I have stayed at the Alexander Hotel for roughly 4 weeks and I have really like my stay here. The couple that own the Hotel are welcoming and friendly also helpful. The room is really clean and tidy and gets cleaned on a daily basis which is really good. The bed are comfy. I would highly recommend for business and pleasure travel.

This is a lovely hotel but let down by staff who were unhelpful and a bit rude.. couldn’t get a table in the restaurant & they said it was too busy for us to be able to get any food in the bar either, we ended up eating elsewhere. Receptionists were friendly and welcoming though. Our room was comfortable and clean but we found it expensive, maybe because there doesn’t seem to be too many other choices of hotel nearby.

Response from SophieB4910, Front Desk Manager at Swansea Marriott Hotel
Responded Mar 7, 2020
Dear SFkernow, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay. As we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable hotel experience during your travels, we have unfortunately fallen short of our goal during your recent stay. Please let me assure you this is not our usual standard of service. The feedback regarding your experiences in our restaurant & bar over the course of your stay have been shared with our Food & Beverage Manager and they send their apologies for your disappointing experiences in our outlets. We are looking to put corrective measures in place to avoid a repeat in the future, especially during peak times. Thank you once again for bringing the matter to my attention and I hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the future.

Stayed in Room 409 for 1 night at the end of Feb 2020. The hotel is a really easy walk from the bus station and easy to find. The staff were friendly and polite and checking in was simple. The room was clean, quiet from noise, and had everything I needed including desk, chair, wardrobe, hangers, safe, iron, ironing board, kettle, tea, coffee, milk, mugs. The bed was very comfortable and there was a controlable heating system in the room. The bathroom had all the essentials: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, shower cap, bathtub, and powerful shower which had plenty of hot water and really easy to use. A hairdryer is also available in the main room in the drawers and there were plenty of towels, tissues, and toilet paper on hand. There is a large flat screen TV in the room with most of the main UK channels, and sports channels. The interface was a little laggy, and unfortunately there was no CNN International, or Bloomberg TV on the system. Downstairs the bar area was welcoming and pleasant. Sky Sports was on in the bar, and the restaurant looked warm and inviting though I didn't eat there. I'm told the pool is great too but I didn't have time to go there. Checkout was simple on the Bonvoy app, and I was able to get a very reasonably priced breakfast from the nearby big Tesco and wander round the shops there before I left Swansea. Thank you to all the staff who were all very friendly.
