Good food here on game day before heading to the stadium. The menu has options for small appetites which was plenty on this ocassion. Didn't have to wait long for the food either and it wasn't too packed! Diolch.

We were in family room as we had booked late. We had to check in at the bar, which was extremely busy so we had to wait to be seen. The lady was very friendly and took us to the room. The room was huge but...the paper was peeling from the walls, the carpet was stained and generally it was... More

It is very difficult for me to understand how recent reviewers gave so many star ratings as this place is appallingly bad quality and value for money, it is a dump! Avoid it. I will start with the plus points, the food was fine and the beer was fine, the guy who checked me in and the guy serving in... More

My wife and I stayed here recently whilst attending a friend's birthday party. Firstly we were asked to pay for the accommodation on arrival which I found strange but not a problem. One of the good points, the location is first class for the centre of Cardiff and its many attractions. Secondly, at all times the staff were very polite... More

We came here early one Friday evening, it's your typical pub food jazzed up a bit (sweet potato fries, burger in paper) so shouldn't be hard to get wrong. Well first they had no mash for the pie - okay, no problem - I'll have the chips. Although it wasn't busy, only about a dozen people and most not eating,... More

Stayed overnight. Venue is ideal and in a nice area with easy access to the City on foot. Staff and food were really good. Room in need of a refresh, although nice size. Dragon taxis recommended by staff were excellent and very reasonable. All in all a good experience. If room slightly improved, would definitely recommend visitors to stay. Anyone... More

We work nearby, so tried to get as a treat to get out of the office for a few hours. The bar staff didn;t acknowledge us initially, the chef came out of the kitchen and they were having a chat and after five minutes served us. The wait on food was more than 45 minutes, so some of my colleagues... More

I stayed at the Cayo for 1 night. For my purpose the location was good and the price of £45 for bed and breakfast was acceptable. There was a small car park to the rear which was good you paid when you booked in which is slightly unusual which had to be after 2.30pm.My room a single was smallbut fine if a... We popped in here for a spot of lunch and found the special afternoon menu. Can't remember the exact prices but something like 4.90 for 1 course and up to 8.90 for three! The menu is interesting enough to like. Even the soup is slightly eclectic with Butternut and Maple, the one I chose, with poppy-seed bread. The Aranci balls... More

If you love steaks don't go there. It was the worst steak I have ever had. Asked for medium rare, received super thick, well done, dry and chewy. On the menu was written there is a rocket salad on the side there was only frozen peas and half of tomato full of fat. I love bloody steaks and this what... More
