Good location, ten minutes walk from town centre. The room was clean but disappointing. The decor was very dated, and there were several small problems such as the bathroom door not shutting, and the taps loose so they rotated when you turned them on. The kettle spout had a large chip out of it. Cannot comment on breakfast as it... More

Stayed the night here as we were visiting a friend in Cardiff. Good location, clean & tidy room with a cute little shower room & a four poster bed! Decor is deeply oldy fash but adds to the hotel's ambience. Vinyl on shower room floor desperately needs replacing but that's a minor point. Good night's kip in comfy bed &... More

Enjoyed staying here in a beautiful building that originally was a top end villa in a tree lined avenue in central Cardiff.Internally it is clean but needs renovation.Decor is tired and very old, lots of stained glass and fancy fittings from the early 20th century. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good value for money in top location.

Lovely b&b, room was great, was three of us and was expecting a double and a single, but we had two doubles!! Amazing. Service was brilliant, the lady at the front desk and believe was the owner was so kind and friendly, was asking if me and my friends had a good night out and everything. Very happy with our... I can't complain about the staff, the food at breakfast, the service or the cleanliness. But the place feels seriously run down and needs a full refurbishment. It looks like it hasn't been decorated in about 50 years and parts of the hotel are really tired. The location was perfect and we felt really safe leaving the car in the... More

The hotel is located in Cathedral Road, Cardiff´s main accommodation street, within walking distance of Sophia Gardens, Bute Park, the castle, the city centre, the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Central station and the main bus station. It is particularly close to the National Express bus stop which has recently moved to Sophia Gardens. I stayed in a second-floor room which I... More

Penrhys is an old fashioned, family run B&B. No more, no less. The most striking thing is the décor - 18 rooms on three floors. it's a blend of Victoriana, heavy William Morris-style wallpaper and a touch of the 1970s, which is probably the last time it was decorated. It reminds me of B&Bs I stayed at as a travelling... More

Friendly service upon arrival. Unfortunately the card machine was not working and had to pay by cash receipt not given or offered later found out another guest had paid by card. Room was small but adequate. The wardrobe door didnt close properly, the veneer coming off of surround. didn't appreciate being woken up at 5.00am, by the noise from room... More

This is a Bed and Breakfast establishment The welcome is warm and friendly The rooms a clean and tidy When we stayed there, it was very hot. Unfortunately there is no A/C in the rooms, but to be honest, it was not expected. This meant that we had to have the window open over night. Being an inner city location,... More
