The Gwaelod has been consistently good for many years. The food is fantastic offering traditional restaurant food and a number if specials. The bar is warm and welcoming offering a mix if craft and national beers. Great views in the summer. Book to avoid disappointment is always best as it is popular. Dogs are welcome in the lower bar if... More

Excellent quality food in a great local which even brews its own beer. Highly recommend the home made ham and parsley sauce, just like my Mum's! Sunday luncheon is also excellent as is the fine array of wines and beers

Myself & the fiance were lucky to get a last minute cancellation - definitely book ahead. Great location - side of the Garth down windy lanes, not the best if you are an impatient driver but adds to the whole thing I think. Good atmosphere on arrival with people sitting outside having a beer. We were taken to our table in... More

Went to The Gwaelod for lunch with my mum before I went on holidays. Got there at 1.45 and was told that we had booked a table in the bar, my mum said that she had booked a table in the restaurant which we then had but the young lady that served us wasn't very forthcoming about moving us. I... More

What a find this place is well worth a visit the staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu is comprehensive and the quality of the food is exvellent. The car park is at the rear and is quite small however dont let this put you off. Looking forward to a return trip.

We were at the Gwaelod last night for a birthday meal. There were 15 of us. We hadn't pre-ordered and the pub and restaurant were very busy. However the food came out quickly and was of superb quality. All orders right first time. Nothing was too much trouble for the Gwaelod team, quickly bringing drinks, jugs of water, extra veg... Went for lunch with our son and his dog. Both our son and I chose the risotto and my wife had tiger prawns as a mains started. All was excellent . But it is the staff who are excellent and go beyond the ordinary. We were made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Parking is not easy with... More

Great localy source fresh food, perfectly cooked to you requirements (with reference to their great Fillet steaks) and great real ale selection with their own brewed beer that's great. Friendly personal welcome and recognized on return visits. Lovely clean and spacious rooms, no compromising here. Always come back to stay here even if its not the nearest place. Easy to... More

We were a party of six adults, booked three rooms for one night, pre Rod Stewart Concert. Two of the rooms were in the main building and one room was in the cottage. We stayed in room 2 in the main building and my daughter and her husband stayed in room 3. Both rooms were well decorated, our room was... More
