Spent 3 nights in this old tired hotel that Raddison seems to have done a superficial makeover (bathroom, bed, and TV) to try and make it ‘4 star’. It’s not, 3-star at best. Old worn carpet and furniture. Noisy old plumbing that ‘screams’ every time I or a neighbour took a shower. Aircon that seemed to turn off at random moments during the night leaving me hot. Old dodgy elevators. The cleaning seemed a bit hit and miss also, with some things not restocked. None of this is up to Raddison Blu standard. But it its not all bad. Bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the big modern TV and lots of power points including USB. Good location 5 mins from the train station, and 15 mins to Cardiff Castle and the stadium. The Buffett breakfast was pretty good. So overall partly good, and partly not so good, and I found it comfortable enough. But a full star below other Raddison’s I’ve stayed in.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu in Cardiff for two nights in March 2019. We came to Cardiff for the rugby. The hotel is in the perfect location and we were so pleased we chose it. It is very close to the train station and there are multiple NCP car parks so it is good for any mode of transport into Cardiff. It is next to St Davids Shopping Centre which has lots of great restaurants, and there are lots of bars round the corner. All this and it is only a short walk from the Principality Stadium. The hotel rooms are really nice and very clean. They are spacious and well set out. The bed was very comfy, just what we needed after a long day. The bathroom was also clean, spacious and very well decorated. We had a good night's sleep and didn't hear any noise from what was undoubtedly a very busy Cardiff City Centre. The breakfast in the hotel was so good!! I can see why it has won awards. All the food was of excellent quality. It was hot and there was plenty of it. We also enjoyed the continental options. The breakfast staff worked really hard to clear the tables and keep the food topped up. We visited the Collage bar which has an excellent selection of drinks, lots of places to sit and great bar staff. There were a few televisions showing sports. A great way to end our nights out. Finally, the staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome when we arrived and were interested in how our stay was when we left. We will definitely be choosing this hotel for our next trip to Cardiff and would recommend it to everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed in a Junior Suite paying £400. Total rip off. Rooms need upgrading BAD POINTS All furniture and bed linen need upgrading, looks old and tatty Bed linen was dirty with black marks, and looked like it had been washed 1000 times, tatty and old. Thick dust Sofa bed tatty and old and very uncomfortable A mix match of furniture with no style Considering the size of the room, no dressing table Bathrobes looked like they have had their day I have no good points I'm afraid, I was very disappointed that Radisson Blu think it's ok to charge extortionate prices for such a poor quality room. (please see pictures) Most of the guests we chatted to in the lift, all said the same.... that rooms need an upgrade.

Like other Radisson Blu’s it appears that this one also wants to sting you for extras. In this case parking was far cheaper at the nearby NCP and breakfast was a darn sight better value at the Cote Brasserie a short walk away. The rooms were clean if with noisy air conditioning. When I informed reception of this on departure, I was told that I should have called for the engineer - at 2am!

Travelled with elderly friend for a few days in Cardiff to celebrate her birthday . Airport bus (T9) stops around corner from hotel so easy access. Warm welcome on arrival (Melania) and our room was ready so we were able to get into room earlier than anticipated, so a good start to our trip. Nice high floor, corner room with big windows so felt very bright and airy. Good aircon. Comfy twin beds and nice big bathroom. Breakfast had good choice of hot/cold food and nice dining area. . Hotel 10 mins walking distance to Cardiff castle/St Davids Hall and can pick up local transport for st Fagans/ Llandaff cathedral etc. easily. Good choice of restaurants nearby. £6 taxi ride to St David's bay for more restaurants and Millenium centre/welsh parliament. Liked the hotel-have used Radisson group before but first time in Radisson blu. would book again and recommend for a city centre stay.
