We booked for Stereophonics who cancelled. They did offer to move the date but we made a weekend of it. Wonderful hotel. Weird entrance that might have you doubting the booking but great inside. Wonderful breakfast included. Parking available just 2 streets away.

Such a cool hotel. Brilliantly funky rooms, but the best bit has been: - the reception team, especially Robyn and Rosa who went the extra mile every time and - the breakfast team, with a great service and really good quality food. It is a great place to stay!

A well needed night away in Cardiff on Wednesday this week. Greeted by Rose on reception who quite honestly was a breath of fresh air and a massive asset to your hotel (I speak as a current hotel owner and as someone who has been in the industry for 35 years and has been a General Manager of numerous chain and private hotels). We were allocated Room 328 which was very well appointed but we did have an issue with the lights due to the 'card holder' being broken so the lights did not stay on. When I spoke to Rose she reassured me that she would immediately check and move our room is necessary - we were just heading out for a meal and she telephoned and left a message saying that we had been moved to Room 305 for when we returned. The room was excellent with the only issue being that there were dirty coffee pods still in the machine and no Breakfast Tea in the room and the large mugs did not fit under the coffee machine. We used the Bar on the 6th floor with our complimentary drink vouchers provided to us and enjoyed our Breakfast the following morning (apart from the grilled tomatoes which were undercooked). All the staff we came into contact with were efficient but a special mention to ROSE who is not only efficient but an amazing human being. Thank you for looking after us so well and we look forward to a return visit when we are able to get away next. Kind Regards Richard & Lisa Slate

We have just returned from a 1 night stay, we started in room 315. Room was clean, warm and well appointed -tea and coffee making facilities, ironing board, TV, wonderful shower- great smelling toiletries. Hotel is central for shopping , restaurants and bars, and the castle is a few minutes walk. NCP carpark is lees than 3mins walk, and we got a £9 discount at the hotel. All staff we met were polite and friendly, special call out to Rose on reception, who is happy and professional, clearing up an issue on our bill quickly and efficiently. Looking forward to returning again, possible late Autumn for some Christmas shopping !!!!

When we arrived we were amazed by the Welsh themed decoration. Rose behind reception was so friendly and offered us a drinks voucher when she found out we were away for “mami and dadi night off”. She was very helpful and offered money off the parking if we had parked in Greyfriars, this was unfortunately closed the day we visited. But we had the drinks vouchers so we were more than happy. The Welsh theme was amazing throughout the hotel and the room we had was clean and so welcoming and comfy. The industrial style is completely to our taste. The in room amenities were fab including a fridge, iron and bathrobes!! The bathroom was full of character. The shower was very good with good pressure abs easy to us. Can even listen the the radio in the bathroom. The toiletries provided are also Welsh and smell amazing. We had our drinks in the bar where the staff were friendly and atmosphere was good so we stayed for another. Breakfast was FANTASTIC. The staff were very friendly and cheerful, which is lovely first thing in the morning. The menu had everything you could possibly want and the continental selection was extensive. The staff on checkout continued the fabulous service. We said if we didn’t have to get back to pick up our son we would have tried to book in for another night. Already looking to book for my husbands birthday in February! Thank you! We have worked in the NHS throughout the pandemic and can completely appreciate the pressure hospitality must be under with isolation/sickness abs the continually changing rules. If there were any issues of this kind as mentioned in other reviews we did not realise. Our stay was seamless and we would like to thank all the staff that made it so.
