We have just returned from a second stay at Ty Mynydd Lodge B&B. It's one of those places that really feels like a home from home the moment you check in. Lisa, the host, provides a wonderful warm welcome and can give all sorts of handy information on places to eat and things to do. Would recommend a meal at the local Italian restaurant, Cicchetti, and a visit to St Fagans. The lodge is very well situated just to the north of Cardiff, with a train station less than 10 minutes walk away. Direct trains to Cardiff Central are very frequent and take only a quarter of an hour. Much easier than driving in. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast choice is amazing. Definitely the best poached eggs I have ever tasted! Thank you for looking after us so well, Lisa - we will certainly be back!

Visited the Lodge last week and had an excellent stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful under the current circumstances and couldn’t do enough for you. Room was impeccable and has great facilities on offer for my vacation. I would highly recommend a visit and will definitely book again.

Lovely place for a short stay. Clean, big enough - the living/dining area is fine - with a small kitchen, shower room and double bedroom. Double sofa bed in the living room, proper double bed in the bedroom (mattress a little soft for us but very comfy :-) Fluffy towels, and robes a nice touch. Big range of cereals, pastries, bagels, yoghurt, fruit etc. for continental breakfast. Home-made jam. Cooked breakfasts available if you want. Lisa, our host, was very friendly, helpful and accommodating - brilliant. And it was all good value, in the perfect location to visit family. Off-road parking right outside, too. The room heaters are very efficient so be careful you don't bake, a low setting is enough. The house is on a main road so care is required when driving out. Highly recommended. We'll be back, I imagine.

We live in south Cardiff and during restrictions in Wales, wanted a change considering we were working from home all the time too. So we went to North Cardiff and stayed at the Ty Mynydd B&B. It was absolutely lovely - so much character to the building, the room and snug downstairs were all very cosy feeling but of a great size, the bathroom was a great size and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great - good food and lovely service. If you get chance to try some of the homemade jam, go for it - really tasty! Some lovely personal touches from Lisa, made to feel very welcome. Thank you!
