Stayed for one night. Welcome was excellent and the quality of the food, both evening meal and breakfast was superb. The professionalism and service from all the staff was of the highest quality. I would certainly have rated 5 stars for this aspect. However the building is a 16th Century Coaching Inn and, to be blunt, it shows. The whole...

We spent one night in the Castle Coaching Inn for a mini break in the Brecon Beacons. We were greeted by the proprietor as we parked our car in the free car park at the back of the Inn and he was very obliging and friendly, offering to help us in with our bags. We were led to our room...

An ideal location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. A warm welcome by John & Val, well sized room decorated with a personal touch of Val, we felt at home at once. After a good night sleep, a fully cooked English breakfast. In the evening very tasty dinners made with fresh local products, completed with a wide variety of biers or...

Can highly recommend this friendly hotel to anyone visiting Wales, excellent place to base yourselves when exploring the Brecon Beacons and wonderful welsh waterfalls. The breakfasts were of high quality, full English with all the trimmings made to order, evening meals of great choice, value for money and homemade from local ingredients.

A really friendly place to stay with a very warm welcome. The food is absolutely outstanding. High quality ingredients and cooking both at breakfast and dinner. Great range on the menu and cooked and present to an extremely high standard. Would recommend eating at The Castle Coaching Inn even if not staying.

We we're recommended this place by our good friends whilst staying 10 min drive up the road just outside of Trecastle. We had the Japanese Prawns and the deep fried Camembert to start, definitely think they could have been bigger especially the Camembert - but nice all the same. Main course however was amazing, slow roasted Welsh lamb, slow roasted...

Friendly family run hotel, in Trecastle, a small village approximately 20 minutes' drive west of Brecon. Comfy bed, hot water, and fab food in the bar/ dining room. The locals clearly keep coming back, which speaks volumes. The atmosphere in the small bar was friendly and inclusive. Worth a visit. We'll definitely go back to stay again, as it is...

We stayed in a cottage in Trecastle and visited the Castle Coaching Inn half a dozen times. We always had a warm welcome and the food was excellent - the lamb was to die for. Excellent beers which changed each week. We also availed ourselves of the Wi-Fi which our cottage did not have. Thanks John, Andrew and Val

Good sized room and large bathroom. Room had extension cables whose pac test has expired. Wi fi if was free and worked well. Wall paper was in need of some tlc on the seams and couldn't open sash window. Imagine it could get quite hot in summer. Owner was very friendly - though we hadn't read the small print and...
