Great value for money. £45 for 1 night with cooked breakfast. Breakfast was self service and substantial. Pub on site was warm and inviting with friendly staff. Good quality, large portions. It's not luxurious but functional. The rooms are clean and tidy and okay for one or two nights. Walls were a little thin, had a downstair room so could... More

Without doubt the worst place I've ever stayed in. We had the only family room which was pre booked for a wedding. The accommodation is the old coach house and I don't think room 15 has been updated since Dick Turpin last visited. No wardrobe or hanging space, a dirty bathroom covered in mould and grime, a broken sofa, a... More

Overall a disappointing 2 nights in room 21. TV (didn't work) and then room wasn't cleaned for 2nd night. Room was comfortable enough. Staff friendly enough but despite promise on TV twice it was never looked at. Also they promised for manager to call us to hear our complaint and this didn't happen. We wanted to like the place as... Two nights B&B for two cost all of £90! It's not luxurious but functional. The rooms are clean and tidy and okay for one or two nights. The people are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was self service and substantial. Only thing missing was teaspoons - dessert spoons aren't great fro removing teabags from cups or for eating yoghurt! Plenty... More

Convenient inn with good off road parking. Comfortable, clean room. Not luxurious but with breakfast included, value for money. No internet available in room, but there was in the bar. Accept a dog in the room.

We stayed here for one night on our way to visit family in mid-Wales. The accommodation is in the old stable block. Our room was at the back and very quiet. There were twin beds which were very very comfortable. However, there was nowhere to hang a coat which we had to put on the floor (fortunately it was not... More

Stayed here last night despite the terrible reviews, i can honestly say its a good place to stay. Everybody was friendly , the rooms were good , maybe just missing some finishing touches, although my bin hadnt been emptied from previous guests everything else was spotless ( i think thats an easy mistake to make ) Shower was pretty poor... My husband and I have simply checked in and some 15 minutes later immediately checked out. The room was disgusting. To name but a few the room had dirty carpets complete with previous occupants hair matted in with fur, a smashed outer window payne, dirty marks upon the bedding, dirty water marks sprayed up the wall and a seriously outdated... Having been previously we were looking forward to meeting up here but we were very disapointed. There seemed to be no one to take charge of all the problems we had. Poor service, staff seemed very disorganised & food was not upto the standards we have had there before. don't we will be going back anytime soon.

The Trevor arms is not my cup of tea. If damp bedrooms infected with cobwebs and spiders is then this may be for you. There was only one light working in the entire room which I stayed in. There where feces down the toilet which obviously showed the room hadn't been cleaned before hand and there was also a sanitary... More

I am a little surprised to hear these comments, I have asked all members of staff and not one of them remembers anyone complaining about the cleanliness of their room. Had you been so disappointed in the cleanliness of your room then a quick word to any member of staff would have resulted in an apology and your being relocated... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Refurbished in the summer of 2014, the Trevor Arms is a delightful 16th-century pub, a focal point within the village of Marford on the North Welsh Borders equidistant between Chester and Wrexham. Marford is a very attractive area in a picturesque and peaceful setting, covering some 750 acres, where the hills of North Wales meet the vast plains of Cheshire. Distant landmarks that can be seen clearly from Marford include Eaton Hall, Chester Town Hall and Cathedral. Beyond that on the low broad plain, the Peckforton hills form the skyline with the outcrop of rock at Beeston crowned with its castle. The hotel backs on to a site of special scientific interest, Marford Quarry, and is an ideal start point for outdoor activities; we also have a 9 seater minibus that can be utilised to drop off and pick up from start and finish points. ... more   less
