So we booked a 3 night break for my 45th Birthday 13th - 16th June 2024. We had already read some fairly negative reviews so were a little apprehensive upon arrival.
Car parking space, luggage trolley and lodge key were where they were supposed to be. Luggage trolley was big and sturdy enough for our luggage. The walk to the lodge wasn’t too far but had a couple of little hills along the way which need one of us to push and one to pull the trolley up them.
Once inside the lodge it is stunning! It’s a beautiful location. Hot tub was hot and ready to enter when we arrived. Lodge was very clean. We had ordered a bottle of Prosecco for our arrive which was just left warm on the side not in the fridge.
We took our fire stick with us after reading a previous review about not being able to get TV channels. We also took an air fryer as the kitchen is poorly kitted out. Definitely cannot describe this as self catering as there are no facilities hardly to enable you self cater. No microwave, oven or toaster. Just a very small hob and two pans provided that don’t fit on the hob at the same time. The dinner plates and bowls are sooooooo small! They look like they are a child’s tea set. There’s no bottle opener or tin opener.
The TV is located in the 2nd bedroom with bunk beds in it. We ended up moving the sofa into the door hole of the bedroom to be able to see it.
Be prepared as there is nothing within walking distance and no taxis or Ubers. There is a local bus which takes you into the town but the last bus back is roughly 3pm.
All that being said, we had a lovely time and really enjoyed ourselves but we did our research and made sure we took extra things that we wouldn’t normally take to aid us. As to whether it’s valve for money, we don’t think it is. We’ve stayed in places in stunning locations, just as lovely for a lot less but a lot better equipped.

I booked a 3 night stay here for my partners 40th. Mostly the feedback is positive …. Amazing setting, very private, lovely “hot” hot tub, homely interior feel, nice touch with the Welsh cakes / tea / coffee / crisps etc. The self check in is very easy and the staff when we needed them were very happy to help.
The only feedback I would like to give is…
* no bath robes when advertised they are provided.
* no tea towel / dishcloth to wash up and dry with.
* empty shampoo bottle in the shower not filled back up.
* no toilet roll on arrival (however after calling we had some brought to us in 15 mins.
* dirty windows when sun shone in they were filthy.
* was advertised as having under floor heating - they don't ….they have x2 plug in heaters which are fine and kick out plenty of heat but shouldn’t advertise underfloor heating when there isn't.
All of this said we would return but wanted to point out the above to the management team for future guests.
We booked the velocity zip wire at the other site at Penrhyn quarry too that was incredible!!!!!

Excellently presented with a seamless checking procedure. Clean and tidy cabin nestled beautifully in the forest. Hot tub was up to temperature on arrival even though stated it probably wouldn’t be. Things that could be improved on… the lounge area was uncomfortable and a small table for drinks would have been nice instead of using the floor. Our TV no matter what we tried would not work as described in the welcome instructions to connect and stream to.
And finally all the functions on the hot tub seam to have been overriding so we were unable to turn it off.
Why turn it off? Because for 3 nights I was constantly awoke every hour or so when the thermostat clicked in and it fired up to heat back up to temperature. My wife called it white noise but the gentle vibration of it rumbling away right outside the bedroom was extremely frustrating.
I’m sure these issues we experienced are fixable and I would still recommend a stay!

We booked a 2 night stay here with our 6 year old, I google to check if zip world activities are open all year, said only closed Xmas day and Boxing Day. Arrived to find all 3 sites within a 5-10 radius are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at no point during the booking process was this mentioned. Turned on the hot tub at 4pm, by 8 it was still cold and I called the concierge number, to be told it wouldn’t get hot until the next morning? The email to welcome you states it’ll heat up in a couple of hours . I go to get into bed, the bed has visibly not been changed and there are body hairs on the fitted sheet and the pillow smells of deodorant. We left the lodge after 1 nights stay and we were extremely disappointed with the lack of communication from Zip world.
I emailed twice since we left to complain and I have been told no one is in until Friday, it’s 4.45pm Friday and still no response.
Would never stay again or recommend and will be putting in a claim for a chargeback from our credit card provider as the stay was not fit for purpose.
The saddest thing is these lodges are stunning and could be such a great find but the service is appalling with zero facilities open at all.

After reading reviews I was a little nervous about our stay. We booked in February and I notice some of the reviews seem close to when the forest lodges opened. Our break was last weekend.
The lodge was well presented, the check in with PIN number was all straightforward. Kids loved loading the cart and taking belongings up to the lodge.
Hot tub was clean and whilst not at full temperature was warm enough for a dip at 35 degrees.
We took a slow cooker with a meal for night one as the cooking’s facilities are limited to a double hob and this was useful. On the second night we got a takeaway pizza from hangin pizza in town nearby and it was excellent! Kitchen better equipped than previous review, bottle opener etc all there!
It is a shame that the underfloor heating has been disconnected and there are plug in heaters- they do a brilliant job but it’s just a shame as it would be nice to have a constant temp rather than peaks with heaters, cool without!
Kids LOVED staying here and I must say waking up to a view of the trees was something I won’t forget. Felt like a treehouse. We will be returning!
We also booked unlimited forest coaster pass and I can highly recommend that as kids couldn’t get enough of it!

Stayed for 3 nights recently and although we had a lovely time and would definitely return, there were a few niggles. Firstly the positives - beautiful setting, lovely clean lodge, comfortable beds, nice welcome supplies, bath robes and the best hot tub! We'd read about the cooking facilities (or lack of) beforehand so went prepared! We also ate out in the local village which was lovely.
We never tried the TV so can't comment on this.
The negatives for us were: the living area - very small with no table to play games or eat off. It was too cold to sit outside so maybe a patio heater for winter guests would be an idea, or a fold away table inside?
We also could not figure out how to have the living area light on without the children's bedroom light coming on? (We didnt have children with us, so wasnt an issue for us this time, but would be if we had) The welcome pack asks you to recycle but we couldn't find the recycling bins anywhere!
Only other thing is it would be useful to have some more information about what is and isn't provided in the lodges on line. We brought lots of things we didn't need - like hairdryer, robes, milk etc but didn't pack a tea towel and none was provided....
Nothing major and all easily fixed.
We feel the lodges are designed to make the most of the outdoor area, so would be amazing in summer, so will be coming back then.

On a positive the hot tub is lovely, the setting glorious but……..Never again. Poorest value for money experience ever. Tiny, far from luxurious, ( damp towels, no dish cloths, no washing up facilities, uncomfortable outdoor furniture, trolleys with punctured tyres, just two robes when it advertised for a family of 5) and condensation running down the walls as the only heating are Dyson blow heaters) - Horrific.

With its spectacular views and incredible tranquility, this lodge will take some beating. Nestled in the idyllic woodlands of North Wales, this lodge had so many boxes ticked. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the hot tub was brilliant. The underfloor heating was a real bonus too, warming up cold autumnal feet very quickly.
The one slight issue we had was that the shower went cold during our stay. It was intermittently hot then cold. The maintenance team came out extremely quickly and offered to inspect and fix during our stay. The team also compensated us with tickets to one of the ZipWorld attractions. They went above and beyond and we really appreciated this.
The local area has plenty of places to eat, walk and explore. We would highly recommend using ZipWorld as a base for exploring or for a quiet, away-from-it-all retreat.

All started so positively, the setting of the lodge is fantastic, the lodge's do appear impressive from the moment you enter. Sadly that's when things start to go a bit wrong.
At time of booking underfloor heating is indicated in the lodge - this we discovered has been removed in preference for Dyson heaters (whilst efficient for heat they do become noisy), the small TV only works from "cast"- the site manager did his best to get channels which after an hour or so he was successful however this was short lasting. There is no oven / microwave or toaster, the induction hob is too small for the one pan & one frying pan provided if trying to use them at the same time. Indoor seating area is small even for just two adults - the TV isn't in this area but in the bunk bed bedroom. The lodges are fairly new so don't understand why the double bed was so soft / uncomfortable & very noisy, every movement can be heard. The hot tub when doing a cleaning cycle is slightly noisy with the noise carrying throughout the lodge (inside & out). The information booklet contains little relevant information - no instructions how to set up the TV, gives instructions on recycling yet the recycling system was not fully in place on our visit. Carrying your luggage / supplies to / from the carpark to the lodge in the trolley provided is a lovely idea however they do tip over easily, brakes would be useful to.
On the positive side, the location is lovely, sitting on the balcony is gorgeous, the welcome pack of local cake, biscuits, butter, milk and juice was greatly appreciated as was the cleanliness of the lodge. The bathroom is great, loads of towels plus robes, plenty of hot water.
The lodge experience could be a lot better with little tweaks here & there, receiving responses to emails sent could also be improved. Uncertain if it's good value for money.

Hello,
Apologies for the late reply! There is one lodge with ramped access but this ramp has quite a steep gradient. The overall access to the lodges are forest paths with comfortable terrain.
The inside of the lodges are not classed as accessible as the doorways are not widened and the bathrooms do not currently provide accessible features such as a handrail etc.
If you would like to discuss this further please contact our team and they will be happy to help.
