Even though we did not stay overnight, this hotel and its staff deserves a special mention for its hospitality while our family of four spent nearly six hours inside it one rainy and cold afternoon after our rental car experienced a flat tire and Hertz took unacceptably long to coordinate roadside assistance with AA. First, the friendly hotel staff let... More

Totally disorganised arrived around 8.30pm as we travelled from Southern Ireland around 36 on the coach ordered food day before they know roughly we were coming. Keys not ready coach driver and owner had to stay somewhere else bags put outside wrong door went into dining room. Well the size of my smoke trout was a joke. It was so... More

Just returned from a coach trip, many people complained about hotel, Food was watery and tasteless, rooms were very dirty and rundown housekeeping was practically non existent. When we entered our room there was a glass of water and some tablets on the table next to the bed, obviously from the previous guests so room wasn't cleaned properly, and outside the window... More

Stayed here for 2-nights. Room was fine, if very outdated in its decor however perfectly functional. No aircon but was able to open the window thankfully. Staff were polite but always busy, hard to get served at the bar (but there are a few others in the village), I get the impression the hotel primarily caters a lot to coachloads... More

A friendly welcome with comfortable surroundings enhanced by great food and reasonably priced. As soon as we arrived we was made aware that a large party that had just arrived was being catered for. Even though the staff was busy we was seated at a window table and drinks order was promptly served. A few minutes later our food order... More

Traveled here on the 28th May for 2 nights with my wife and son. Hotel is situated at the top part of the village and the surrounding area is stunning, plenty of pubs/restaurants and shops nearby. As stated in other reviews, the hotel itself was understaffed, massively, although the staff that where there we found to be very competent and... More

We stayed on a Saturday night with friends in several rooms. This hotel appears to have changed little since the 80's; however, don't be put-off - it has an undefinable 'charm'. Although in-need of refurbishment, it is well maintained and reasonably clean, with friendly & helpful staff. Signs of a refurb programme are evident in the public loos that have... More

We came here for our first night and found staff to be friendly- The food portions were large and tasty. The menu was quite varied but could be more for those of us that don't eat meat- The wine was good- not the best atmosphere- but it is a hotel- appears to cater for all sizes of party.

I was part of a very large walking group who had booked some months before. Three days of walking ended at the Royal Goat on a blistering Sunday. Despite this there were minimal staff. Many in our group had to queue 45 minutes to get served at the bars. I believe the club was coerced into ordering a buffet. Either... More

We booked this on the Tuesday before the bank holiday weekend and seemingly secured the last room in the hotel at £90 per night. If the 'last room' meant 'small, dark & barely big enough to fit a double bed and at the back of the hotel' then we got it. It was discussed with reception and they confirmed that... More
