When we arrived, it seemed like a normal place. A house converted into a B&B, most are lovely, hospitable placed with great hosts. On first arrival, we didn't see anything wrong. The room was fine but basic and probably in need of updating. We were told that the bathroom fan burns out after a bit and so should not leave... More

We had booked to stay at this property on two separate occasions, as we aimed to take the ferry over to Ireland and back between two weeks in the country. The first occasion we stayed at the guesthouse was not entirely unpleasant, but did seem somewhat dictatorial on the part of the owner. We had the family room, which was... More

What a wonderful stay we had. Cosy, comfortable, clean with an exceptional breakfast every day, what more can you ask from a B&B? We were made to feel very welcome & nothing was too much for our hosts. Appleby's is used more for people using the ferries but our stay was Saturday to Saturday.

The B&B was ideally positioned for a quick transfer to the Ferry terminal. Though the room, was comfortable, it was fairly basic and in need of updating. The proprietors were very accommodating and gave us a continental breakfast early, as we were departing on the 0800 ferry to Dublin. Parking is a bit tight. The drive will take 4 cars,... More

We visited Holyhead recently for a night before boarding our ferry for Dublin. We found this to be a nice place to stay and reasonably priced. Carole, our host, was very friendly and helpful. Our room, though a little on the small side, was clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was a good size. We had a very... More

Many houses in Holyhead are filling a gap in the market for B and B especially for ferry travellers. The official description of Applebys does state that they cater for early breakfasts for ferry travellers, however, it seems we were an exception. Mrs Monck Mason was kind enough to leave us a jug of orange juice however. The official photo... More

Just by chance we rang the door when we saw the vacancy sign and we were not disappointed. The lovely English couple, Rodney and Carole, had a very nice and clean room available for the one night we needed. The cooked breakfast were at its best. It was easy to find a parking place on the street and it close... More

Very nice place to stay. Room and facilities were exceptionally clean. Nice quiet area. Hosts were lovely people and took great care and pride in what they do. Breakfast was sensational. Impressed with painter and decorators talents too. Well recommended.

We stayed at Applebys guest house on 30 July 2015 and it was perfect. The room was very clean, comfortable and the full English breakfast was magnificent. Our hosts Rodney and Carole made us feel very welcome and it was a pleasure to stay at their guest house. We would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone travelling to Ireland on... More
