We had booked for two nights to enjoy walking in the area but found this food pub with rooms less than comfortable enough to stay our second night despite being refused any refund by the owner on the first evening - You have to pay in full on arrival !! Problems: 1) We couldn't take a bath as there was... More

Lovely location but!!! We arrived and had to pay on arrival, our room was ok, albeit a bit old fashioned view was of the yard out the back. The bathroom well that was advocado! The shower was a dribble at best and the bathroom glasses had lipstick stains on them. Our evening meal was very nice and the young lady... More

Popped in on a Sunday for a carvery as we were passing. Asked the lady behind the bar for a table and she said there might be one available in 5 minutes, nearly 15 minutes later she came back to say we should go through and see if the table was available... We opted for only 1 course which was... More

Llangollen is a lovely place to visit, but do not stay in this hotel. Yes it's in a lovely location, but do not be foolish enough to eat here. The restaurant will be empty (surely a clue) and you will have a long wait before some very poor food (at a high price) is put before you. You will not... More

The hotel was very quiet during our visit, but this did not improve the time it took to serve dinner. We stayed for 2 nights and both evenings, although the place was virtually empty, to excessive time to produce our dinners. Roughly 30 minutes for the starters to appear, and another between clearing the starter dishes and the main courses... More

The local beer is fantastic and the food very good too. The service is always great and the atmosphere very nice indeed. It has everything for campers, families and perfect views outside with lovely seating areas. I'd recommend the Llangollen beers

Great location but sadly very dated. We arrived with no one at reception and had to go to the bar to fine someone. Room was dated and we had no towels, toiletries, tea and coffee. We did however complain and we were bought some straight away. Breakfast was poor and service was extremely slow. Wouldn't stay here again.

We did a last minute booking based on the pictures on the website. The location is fabulous, however in spite of the hotel being 2/3empty we were given a room at the back of the hotel overlooking a wood yard. The room was very dated, though it did appear to be clean. The bed had wonky brass knobs and squeaked... More
