Stayed in the Blacksheep Backpacker with friends and 4 children (teenagers) for the Eisteddfod in Y Fenni this August. Julie the house keeper was very welcoming and produced a wonderful breakfast that seemed never ending , and plentiful . Beds are clean and shower room was cleaned daily. It's not Hotel it's a Hostel and for £16 a night and... More

So, ok - this place ( Also on Trip Advisor under the name Great Western ) is VERY cheap - for a dorm room you're looking at £15 a head per night and the location to town is excellent and as stated before the people who run the place are friendly and nice. But...but...but...YHA do it better...and they are not... More

This is a backpackers hostel, not a hotel and should be judged as such. The beds are fine and the rooms are warm, there is a good supply of food for breakfast making it perfect for what I wanted. Located just outside train station its ideally located for travellers allowing you to dump your bags and enjoy the town. The... More

Also known as the Great Western, Black Sheep backpackers is a great, friendly backpackers located right by the train station. Though the dorm is in the basement and a bit dark as a result (there are a couple of windows) it's perfectly acceptable for the price in my opinion and the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us. If you... More

Had great fun staying here, with the pub downstairs and a common room with cooking facilities. Perfect for our group of 5, the rooms have been recently been renovated and double room with ensure was spacious! The staff were also super friendly

It is clean, the bed linen, the shower, toilets, carpet. The staff are polite and shown me around. The price, £16 a night, for a clean bed is good. but I have paid the same in other places and it's been somewhere I would take my mum too. Sleeping, well I was tired so out like a light. The Location, fantastic,... More

Stayed for 1 night as we were climbing sugarloaf mountain. Arrived and shown to the room, booked a room for 4 and was given one for 7, these were bunkbeds, the bedding was clean although stained with bleach. The room was very poor with a missing window pane, covered with a piece of cardboard !!! We left the room at... More

Don't be under any illusions. This is not your average Best Western Hotel. If you are expecting a comfortable relaxing stay, this is not your place. It is basic at best, and well suited to backpackers looking for a cheap bed in the dry. It has a small and limited bar, darts and pool table. Two rooms are dorm type... More

I recently booked a twin en suite room at this hotel. I appreciate 39.50 in total is reasonable and chose it as I was not able to get any other accommodation in town for that night. The pros: the guy who greeted us at the bar was friendly, the bed was ok and the shower worked. The cons: rotten windows... More
