The swan has been sold the accommodation will now be solicitors offices. The bottom floor will still be a bar and restaurant. It will still be serving the high class of food, and a large selection of snacks

I stayed in the hotel as it was close to the Hospital where I had to sit for an exam. The location was ideal being only a 20 - 30 minute walk away and being close to the main (and only) road of abergavveny. It is also just a 10 minute walk from the train station. The staff were helpful... More

The premises are slightly dated but the food was good and priced reasonably the set full english breakfast was good value for money £5.50 per head and the rest of the menus varied and reasonable The staff were friendly and efficient The toilet facilities were small and dated for a large building and need some work done to bring them... Attended a wedding in Sugar Barn Abergavenny and stayed overnight at The Swan Hotel. What a lovely atmosphere , from the friendly and welcoming staff to the friendly and welcoming locals in the hotel bar. The room was clean and tidy. The bed very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was very filling with as much cereal, toast, coffee, tea and juice... More

I was recently on a night out in Abergavenny with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while, after a few drinks we fancied something to eat and realised even though we are both locals in Abergavenny we had never eaten at the Swan before so decided to give it a go. The atmosphere in the bar was as... More

The room was very poor, no air conditioning unless you call a piece of wood 2" x 2" x 15" keeping the window open, evidently they cannot afford to have the sashes repaired, it was hot when we stayed there so it was noisy as well due to having to keep the wood in the window. Secondly and more serious... More

Five of us went for a Sunday lunch. The host/waiter was chewing and wearing old scruffy jeans. He did get better as the meal progressed and was polite and helpful. Good to see them serving local beers - Evans Evans. I am not a fan of carveries as the food is usually not very hot and this was the same.... More

Friendly welcome on our recent stay, strange musty smell, very basic room, my husband got stuck in the bathroom (just as well I was there), woke up at 5AM thinking it was later due to wafer thin curtains letting in the light and noise downstairs, ended up getting up at 6.30 and going home, didn't bother with breakfast, just wanted... My time at The Swan hotel from start to finish was outstanding. I was greeted and welcomed from the minute I walked through the door. The friendliness of all the staff was second to none. My room was clean and comfortable and was actually able to check in earlier than expected. The manager Mark and his friendly staff made my... More
