Myself and my husband stopped here for a pint whilst in town this lunch time 18/08/16. We both opted for Hereford Pale Ale, a delightful local ale serve very cold and in cute glass wear! Server poured the first pint out before serving us as it had been sat in the line, this is nice to see. We sat in... More

Visiting Abergavenny for my father-in-law's 80th birthday, we decided to stay at The King's Arms. We normally stay at The Angel, but it was fully booked. On arriving, we had to make a quick checkin, and get to our lunch reservation at The Hardwick. The manager did so much to facilitate our checkin:- he advised where to park our car,... More

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and adequate. But very hot. With the window open the street noise was very loud. The smell of air freshner was overpowering. At midnight the radio alarm went off, be warned, unplug it. The bed was very hard. The bathroom was very clean, with conditioner and body lotion, but no... More

Well-located, nicely renovated historic pub 2-minutes walk from Abergavenny town centre. For those who haven’t stayed before the following may be helpful. This is a fascinating, very old building, added to and taken away from for maybe 400 years. As such the access to the bedrooms is via somewhat uneven stairs, and could be difficult for those with limited mobility.... More

Nice ambience and seating outside, very nice pint of Moretti and buffet was very tasty. Seems quite trendy but a mix of clients, had a laugh chatting with some rather tipsy locals sat outside. Worth a visit.

I have been to this pub many times but 1st time in the restaurant where we had 3 lovely courses for £22.50 and was very surprised at the overall experience. Definitely will go again. My soup was on the cool side but very tasty. I suppose I could have asked to have it warned up, but won't let it stop... More

To be fair, we were warned the day before there would be a party going on until about midnight, with doors locked at 12.30. But it was still very noisy at 2am – perhaps because people who had gone to the party didn't want to go to sleep! We left feeling very tired. Staff pleasant; breakfast limited but nice.

We were set up in one huge room, equipped with a bar and the room was very spacious although there were other tables being used by other diners. We pre-ordered our meals which were served promptly at the time we asked for and every family member got the correct order and simultaneously with the other family members. The food was... More
