A double bedroom with very old bed and NO windows (except a skylight), no fresh soap in the bathroom (which had a problem shower). cupboard full of old clothes. The owner was pleasant, and provided an excellent breakfast, but at £100/night (plus 2% if paying by card) this was the worst-value B & B we have ever had!

A gem of a place. Was very well looked after. Very friendly, close to town, the breakfast was superb, parking around the side. Will definitely be coming back. Lovely and clean. Not ensure but can't fault the place.

My husband and I wandered into Abergavenny on a Sunday afternoon to spend a few days hiking. We had no idea that it was the weekend of the Food Festival. After a bit of gridlock in town we drove to the edge of town and walked down the Hereford Rd to find a place to stay. We knocked on the... More

This is a fantastic, family run B&B with excellent rooms in a beautiful location. The owners are very friendly and very relaxed, and the breakfast service in the morning is great! (breakfast is very nice too). I was a student staying there whilst working in the local hospital and this was by far the best accommodation I have stayed in... More

I stayed a couple of nights on business. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the owners were friendly and very helpful. Limited on-site parking but many quiet side roads to park in and the area appeared to be safe. Very good breakfasts were served each morning. If I return to the area I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely room, much more in the way of facilities than I had expected. However, I felt it wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked. The hosts seemed very pleasant but almost didn't seem to be expecting me despite the booking. The breakfast was excellent. My only issue with this was they ask you the night before what time... Stayed here when the Abergavenny food festival was on Sept 2014.Firstly the carparking was a problem as the car park at rear of property was full of junk and whining dogs.We had no choice but to park in the street ,something I do not like doing in a strange town. The room was ok but did not sleep at all well... We had a wonderful experience staying here just this weekend and have to say that this guest house is so lovely, the beds are very comfortable, rooms exceptionally clean and tidy, we stayed in the family room which was very spacious, with it's own en-suite. The food was some of the best I've tasted which consisted of a full English... More

After staying at Blacklion, I truly believe BnBs are the way to go for those travel weary jet setting globe trotters. The rooms are nice and cosy, clean beds, hot showers, wifi(although signal was weak in room 3). To top it all, the owner was very warm and friendly. What was supposed to be just a night's rest in the... More
