Called in whilst touring around Anglesey. Got to the bar about 3p.m and decided what to have for our late lunch. Went up to the bar to order only to be told we could only have a sandwich, until 5p.m . Decided on our sandwiches and ordered a bowl of chips with each one. (3 orders). 3 plates of sandwiches come... More

Spent many a weekend evening here enjoying the outdoor live music and drinks whilst watching the sun set. Been there in all weather and still enjoyed ourselves. Now they have patio heaters its even better! Not overkeen on sitting inside, although it has had a facelift and a lick of paint - much prefer to enjoy the amazing view.

The Anglesey Arms has a prime location on the waterfront just outside the old town walls, and it used to a typical tourist trap - scruffy with nondescript food. Over the past year or so the bar has been smartened up, so in early July we decided to give it a try. My wife had the sea bass special which... More

Stayed for one night at beginning of August..Arrived late in evening and were given a lovely welcome. Situated overlooking the Menai Straits adjacent to the castle. Room was comfortable, only draw back was no en suite. Shared bathroom.. Did not have evening meal as had to meet friends elsewhere, but from what we saw the food looked fantastic. We had... More

There are a few rooms upstairs to spend the night. They are basic with sink in the room and a shared bathroom. The floors squeak and aren't quit level as to be expected but we had a great view of the castle and a sense of history. The bed was comfy. Some noise from the pub below seeps upstairs but... More

Booked here for our first dinner in Caernarfon. Lovely sunny evening in a perfect location. The food was good but the service was just appalling. Not enough staff to deal with an extremely busy pub. This place could be a gold mine but not if it continues this way.

We gathered for a get together and it was such a fantastic night. We had several different staff serving us which were all as friendly as each other. Excellent customer service. There was a local band singing various songs. All in all excellent night shared with good friends and good staff

A nice country0 quay-side adjacent to the castle, with a great view of the Menai Strait. Small range of beers, smaller range of lunches but still very pleasant visit. Seating is inside or out, and families seemed very welcome.
