My wife and I arrived in the rain after a bus ride from Conwy. The owner Patrick was very welcoming and made us feel very welcome. Had fun playing pool, reading a book about shipwrecks and chatting to a Wigan Athletic fan about their game with my team, Bristol City. Breakfast was great and would definitely stay there again. Thank... More

Helpful and friendly hosts, however the venue is past its use by date and is a throwback to the past with tired rooms, decor and facilities. Off steet parking is a bonus, however limited, and room rate excludes breakfast and wi fi access.

As an overall general comment I'd agree it's a bit old fashioned. The hotel is a Victorian building and we try not to change or interfere with it too much other than keeping it clean and painted on an ongoing basis. In recent years more and more people are requesting a room only rate in common with many of the... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review us. Regarding the water pressure,- we've had it checked and we are told it's ok. However I do agree that this is an intermittent problem and more likely to happen when everyone runs a bath at the same time. Solution: Put the kettle on, have a cup of tea and then have... More

Stayed for the one night. Initial thoughts were a throwback to the 80s BUT it turned out to be a great location, large room facing the sea, Super comfy beds which we wanted to lower out of the window and drive off with , they were that good. Patrick is a great host . Tight but free parking. Continental breakfast... More

I quite agree....those mattresses are magic! The Continental Breakfast does have Cheese, Salami or ham available. Just ask the waiter. It's kept in the kitchen fridge and not on the Buffet for obvious reasons. Cereals are included with all Breakfast options. More

Stayed for one night bank holiday Monday and instantly we found Patrick, the proprietor, who was very welcoming and had a good sense of humour. We had upgraded £5 to a superior room with a view across the Menai Straits. The sunset had to be witnessed. The hotel may appear a bit dated and the bathroom is small but this... More

As you say the hotel is a bit dated ...a bit like ourselves these days :-) We do our best with it however to keep it clean and tidy and offer value for money Breakfast options at £5 or £8. So it's nice to get positive feedback like this. Many thanks. PS There have been superb sunsets for the past... More

Patrick was really lovely, quick check in, good information on local places to go. The room has a tv and coffee station. Older place with no lift. My room at the top was small but good for a one night stay and had a great view of the water. There was a Morrison's across the street for food and gas... More

Many thanks for a lovely review. It sums up very well the type of old Victorian house this is in a beautiful location overlooking the island of Anglesey across The Menai Strait but just a few steps from the local amenities. That's the reason we bought it over 14 years ago :-) More

This guest house was easy to find and is located in a very good position within easy walking distance of town centre which has lots to offer. We received a friendly welcome on arrival and shown to a large room with a seaview and an excellent bed. Decor is a bit dated but everywhere was very clean. The full English... More

Our first impression on entering the building was of warmth. It was quite a cold day and so many hotels turn off the heating after consulting the calendar, rather than the weather forecast! We paid an extra £5 for a superior room with a view - money well spent as we had a very large room containing a king size... More

We love your review which we think actually sums up the atmosphere here very well. We do our best to keep the place warm and friendly. The Car park can be challenging as it's on a slope but if anyone needs help to park just ask at Reception. Thanks again. More

I stayed here for a night whilst filming in Wales and had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The gentleman on the desk was very welcoming and approachable and the room I was assigned (22) was delightful with a beautiful view that even stormy weather couldn't spoil. Next time I stay, I'll have to try the cooked breakfast as it looked lovely!... More

Lovely B & B, short walk to the castle, car park is tight if you have a large car but don't let this put you off as there is plenty of parking near by at very reasonable rates for 24 hours.
