Patrick was very friendly and helpful. The view was only spoiled by the large supermarket entrance opposite the hotel, but not too bad. The room was great with a huge bed, but the only heating was a small electric heater. OK at this time of year but could be a problem in colder weather. The breakfast was OK, small cooked... More

Stayed for one night visiting in the area. Had a front room on first floor. Great views of the Menai strait. Can be quite noisy with traffic if you have the window open but that's just a little gripe. Nothing to write home about. The room was lovely. Clean and bright with ensuite. No electric shower but not a problem.... More

What a warm welcome by Patrick! He made us feel at home, and had a good chat with us, took the time for it, and told us stories of his life! We left we were not only customers, and that is very nice when you're on holidays, and you actually have time to meet people! The room was huge, the... More

This is a lovely hotel/B&B on the edge of the town. We had the front room with a wonderful view over the Menai Straits. The owner, Patrick, was very welcoming on check in and helpful with recommendations for places for an evening meal. We hadn't initially booked breakfast but decided to add it and were very pleased with it. The... More

We had been a huge, nicely furnished high-ceilinged (and ornately-decorated ceilinged) room with a bay window that looked out on the Menai Strait and over to Anglesey. We watched the sunset from our window. There was an extra charge fro breakfast, which we declined.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. Yes those ornate ceilings make you wonder how those craftsmen long ago took pride in their work...such perfection and working upside down so high up! More

We loved our view from the front room, which looked out onto the Menai Bank. However, we found the B and B lacking in a few areas and were overall disappointed in our stay there. The bathroom reeked of mildew, which made the room smell, as well. The bathroom was quite small and poorly lit and a mildewed shower curtain,... More

Any disappointment is one too many for us. Problems can be resolved on the day once we are aware of them. e.g. a shower curtain can be changed, a drain can be unblocked, light bulbs changed etc. Room only Rates from £55 per room are clearly advertised on our own website. There is no other Fully licensed hotel in this... More

My wife and I arrived in the rain after a bus ride from Conwy. The owner Patrick was very welcoming and made us feel very welcome. Had fun playing pool, reading a book about shipwrecks and chatting to a Wigan Athletic fan about their game with my team, Bristol City. Breakfast was great and would definitely stay there again. Thank... More

Helpful and friendly hosts, however the venue is past its use by date and is a throwback to the past with tired rooms, decor and facilities. Off steet parking is a bonus, however limited, and room rate excludes breakfast and wi fi access.

As an overall general comment I'd agree it's a bit old fashioned. The hotel is a Victorian building and we try not to change or interfere with it too much other than keeping it clean and painted on an ongoing basis. In recent years more and more people are requesting a room only rate in common with many of the... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review us. Regarding the water pressure,- we've had it checked and we are told it's ok. However I do agree that this is an intermittent problem and more likely to happen when everyone runs a bath at the same time. Solution: Put the kettle on, have a cup of tea and then have... More
