In need of a bit of general refurbishment but very clean, comfy bed, good shower, excellent location for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey, and very friendly helpful staff. Everything you need from a budget hotel.

Poor very poor. So much wrong. Bad curtains in room. Bad curtains in bath. Bad taps in sink. Leaking shower. Wet floors . Jaded and old compared to other Travelodges. Needs a complete revamp. Won't be booking this one again. Staff were helpful.

Originally we wanted to stay within the mountains more, but booked Travelodge as they were cheaper, and we coffee snobs, coffee-aholics really and lodging next to Starbucks proved to be an amazing morning, every morning. Anyway Travelodge is located just off of one of the main roads entering the mountains. Although it's not central, it was still quick and easy to get to all the different attractions around Snowdonia. Sometime we made a loop entering from the A5 and returning back on the A487 seeing as many attractions on the route. Our main entrance was the A5 and this route is one of the most beautiful views I did not mind waking up and driving every morning. We realized also that being just outside the mountain was less crowded hardly any tourists, and we never had an issue with parking. We never had large que at Starbucks even. The only complaint about the Travelodge itself was the hallways had a bad smell. You could tell they sometimes tried to mask it wither freshener spray, but in my opinion it made it worse to combine.. Luckily this smell was only in two corridors and the room itself did not smell.

After the 2nd night we woke up with bites. On returning home we discovered bed bugs. It took a lot of washing sheets and clothes to get rid of them and a couple of weeks of getting bitten. Check your bed before getting in!
