Stayed in room 6. Spotlessly clean with a superb view of the beach/sea. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. No breakfast because of covid restrictions but lots of places to get breakfast nearby. Enjoyed cheese platter and wine in the garden watching the sea on our last night.
I stayed here for one night while in Aberystwyth in May 2021. Attractive narrow fronted seaside hotel. Made very welcome with a glass of Prosecco on arrival. Comfortable well equipped room. Good fun. Perhaps not the best soundproofing!
Gwesty Cymru is a luxury seaside hotel that is worth the stay and therefore worth a recommendation. There were some really nice touches such as being offered a glass of prosecco on arrival, the plush carpet throughout, the high-pressure rainforest shower, bathtub with sea-view (you can watch the sunset from the bath), the super comfortable bed and the room-art. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were helpful and friendly. 10/10 would stay again.
This is the first time we have been away in many months following the outbreak of the Coronavirus7 Pandemic. We genuinely couldn't have picked a better hotel to stay in. From the outset it was obvious you are walking into a hotel of class that has had love and devotion oozed into it. From the thought of the room names, to the interiors, it couldn't be more perfect. Walking in from the cool spring sea breeze you are hit with a warm atmosphere. The communal area and room is minimal and spotless. The way the rooms are put together with thought and furnishings supporting craftsmen and artists is class in itself. Then to be able to sit in the bay window overlooking the beautiful sea is heaven in itself! I have not slept so soundly in months and months. The bed was super comfy, and the whole ambience created the perfect atmosphere for us to relax. The owners have been incredibly accomodating and friendly on the phone and messaging, and for this we are very grateful. We hope to return very, very soon for more of the same, and next time hopefully for longer downtime. …
Cannot recommend Gwesty Cymru enough! Staff were so helpful with any queries. Room was lovely and spacious with a lush and romantic bathroom. Travelling during lockdown was made easy by being able to bring food to our room and eat in front of our bay window whilst looking out to the sea. Aberystwyth is a beautiful place and this hotel is the perfect place for a peaceful break away. Super close to the town where there’s loads of local and independent eateries (I recommend Medina and Light of Asia!) There is plenty of parking around, although you have to move a few times due to time limits but it’s a moment out of your day.
