I was sold on this place because it was 4 star hotel and the photos looked great. Unfortunately the hotel rooms are grotty the carpet is filthy the shower is covered in mould. The doona cover is stained too. Would definitely not recommend the hotel. I am very disappointed.

Stayed here for a graduation ceremony. The hotel is above the bar. From the outside it looked a bit tired however the rooms were very nice indeed. Comfortable bed, modern bathroom and nice decor. The lady in charge was pleasant and helpful. The barman was also friendly. Something to be aware of bar doesn't open till 3pm weekdays. I would... More

...not without a couple of flies in the ointment. We, like other reviewers, found parking a bit hard going, but it's in a street right next to the promenade, in a high-density residential area. It's difficult to hold the hotel accountable for that. We also had to wait a few minutes for a member of staff to appear to check... More

You really can't call this a hotel, no hotel facilities like food Continental breakfast £5 extra! A few eating establishments near by, but nothing exciting Parking horrendous on the street! Lots of stairs to climb, no help offered, actually the checkin was poor and the girl clearly wasn't to happy that day The rooms however, very different story - lovely,... More

We booked one night to end a short coastal break further South. Aberystwyth was the perfect staging post heading north to Snowdon and then home. This hotel was realistically priced and appeared well situated. The rooms are refurbed and the Staff fab. However the Pub below the rooms is open until 2:30am in the week and 4:30am at the weekend.... More

This is a very characterful old pub. The rooms are lovely and well appointed although the TV was at a neck breakingly high up angle. Check on was fine, done via the bar but checkout a bit odd. Just a case of finding the cleaner and leaving the keycard on the bar. Not sure whether or not I've been charged... More

Great location, travelled on business, couldn't hear the noise from the bar as in other reviews, short walk to the new prom then round to the pier, rooms very modern and wifi coverage is excellent. Welcome was very friendly and breakfast is great

Not really a hotel but a pub with rooms on two floors above. Don't be put off though; friendly welcome at bar to check in, and shown to smart newly decorated big room. Clean, comfortable with ensuite toilet and shower, TV and tea and coffee. Electronic key means you can come and go as you please when the pub is... More

Provided 24hrs notice of a cancellation due to the car breaking down (with the kids in it) requiring a two hour tow back to our location. Offered to cover any commission charges but the hotel insisted on charging the full amount despite evidence of the breakdown recovery being provided. They were well within their rights to do this, but the... More

The forn tof the hotel is a little disconcerting on first arriving, as it is over a pub. The rooms are a real surprise. They are light and airy, well decorated and comfortable. The only let down was a slightly hard bed (for my tastes) and very thin pillows. Otherwise, the decor was immaculate and the rooms spotless. Parkign can... More
