The owner of this Hotel, a Mr. Sutton, is arrogant, pompous and rude. For an Hotel of its type the food is above average. The beer is good. It would be worth a visit to see him in action and the rude way in which he interacts with guests.

The hotel is in an interesting and historical building in the centre of Great Malvern, very convenient for looking round this lovely town and for visiting the RHS Show. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a good evening meal and delicious breakfast.

Our second year staying at this hotel and hopefully a third year in the pipeline. This hotel is run to excellent friendly standards. Jeremy, Rani and the team in my opinion make this hotel. Their professionalism, service and personal attention is second to none. Breakfasts are to die for, fresh, hot and plenty to fill any hunger be it vegetarian...

You know a hotel is going to be good when it has a whole menu devoted to a local product - asparagus. We chose omelette with salad and beef pie with ale. The latter was served with veg and home made mash. Lovely! The young lady serving us coped really well and the young man enquired if we were happy...

Yes, there maybe some more modern hotels available in the area but, if you want good value, clean and tidy, excellent customer service, a great choice of ales and ciders in the well stocked bar, the best freshly cooked to order breakfast, look no further. My wife and I occasionally visit Malvern to go to the theatre. We have stayed...

We love this hotel. We stay there several times a year whilst visiting the theatre there. The staff are very friendly, and extremely helpful. They make your stay feel very special. The rooms are all lovely and clean, and very comfortable. There food is great, and freshly prepared and cooked for you. With lots of specials on the menu. They...

Over the years we've stayed at The Great Malvern six times, always as part of a theatre break deal. We've had a great time at the Theatre and Hotel each time and this visit was no exception. The Hotel itself was built in 1842 and is continually being updated and is always spotlessly clean. Jeremy and his staff always offer...

Stayed for a night. We were welcomed by a member of staff, too late for dinner at 2030 which was a bit early to close in my view so we ate elsewhere, returned to the bar where the same member of staff accidentally tipped a glass of wine over my wife! Never mind, accidents happen. Bar was reasonably priced and...

We visited the Great Malvern between two hotels that would call themselves 'luxury hotels'.. The Great Malvern does not have a pool/spa but the food was far, far better than the other two hotels. The staff were all very efficient and friendly. It is well placed for the centre of town. It was not in the best/ most modern decorative...

Hi - thank you for your glowing review. I am flattered that we faired well against 2 luxury hotels - one finds these days that it is all about meeting expectation levels. We have decorated the hotel from top to bottom over the last year - with a Victorian emphasis - hence you may think it a tad dated. We...

Pulled up and thought hmmm not sure about this, old style reception area like going back in time and lift drops a little before it rises but this place is charming. The staff helpful and polite, the room warm and clean, the bed comfy and the breakfast generous in range and proportion. We happened to be there on open mic...

Hi and thank you so much for your positive review. Glad you enjoyed the music - it has added a really interesting side to the business - although we do have to manage the noise levels. We look forward to welcoming you back. Jeremy

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Great Malvern Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Great Malvern. We are a friendly, family run business offering comfortable accommodation, great food, and good, old fashioned hospitality and service. Built in 1842 the hotel has been updated whilst still retaining many of it's historical features. The Sutton Family bought The Great Malvern Hotel in 1999, with the intention of running a small town centre hotel which had been an ambition of Jeremy. Rani, his wife, his children and parents have a day to day influence in the hotel and are supported by long standing members of staff. Good accommodation, good food and fine CAMRA cask ales. ... more   less
