Had 204 and it was a very hot day so all the window open to get the room cool. Bathroom as ever lovely and clean. However the bed made me feel like Goldilocks. One half of the bed was rock hard and far to hard. The other half was far too soft . and as a result if you rolled... More

This is a charming old hotel set in attractive grounds. There is a lot of outdoor seating in the courtyards and gardens and many cozy nooks and seating areas inside the hotel. The old part of the hotel is attractive with many period features. We stayed in one of the rooms in newer part of the hotel and we found... More

We went to the afternoon tea, which claimed to be one of Cotswolds' best. However it was average at best. The sandwiches were good, but the sweets were quite dull and seemed to be a little old. The staff was never around. In total it was quite pricey and there are better places in Broadway to enjoy an afternoon tea.

Lovely old Cotswold building. The most professional staff I have seen in a very long time - couldn't do enough for you. Great location and valet parking available - parking FREE. Great breakfast - cooked to order unlike the rubbery scrambled eggs that have been sitting on the buffet for hours that we normally have to endure. Room good value... More

Having visited The Lygon Arms many years ago and enjoying it thoroughly I was really looking forward to staying there again with an ever excellent Martin Randall tour in the Cotswolds. The hotel is still great fun, with lots of 'Olde World' charm in the public rooms and the Great Hall plus a very good spa and pool. However I... More

The hotel is a perfect place for a romantic getaway. It was our anniversary and the staff had very kindly upgraded our room. It has a real country hotel feel, which is exactly what we want - it's got character and is quiet, super friendly with great staff. The hotel has recently changed hands and we had previously visited feeling... More

Loved this charming old hotel, could not find one thing to complain about Room spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable Food excellent , and staff all very pleasant and very helpful Would defiantly stay again. Also found out that in some of the rooms you can take dogs , which we will be taking advantage of next time.

The staff were really attentive. Really good service. Excellent dinner. We were left to linger over breakfast. We felt the staff were interested to make sure we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. A country hotel should deliver the atmosphere of a country house. The Lygon Arms did this. Well done!

We were booked into this place by a company that does multi-day walks, so we didn't choose it. We were surprised at the size of the room and the comfortable facilities, however. Our room actually had separate sleeping areas, fantastic as we were two friends sharing the accommodations. We loved the atmosphere of the pub/restaurant and I had a wonderful... More

We were aware that this hotel had changed hands several times and might be questionable, however, we found it charming. We were in the old part, which we preferred, in a very comfortable room with an attached sitting area. The bed was very comfortable, 2 televisions, which I don't remember turning on, and an attached bath with a nice shower.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Imagine a hotel where roaring log-burning open fireplaces hint at its roots dating from the 1300's. Picture a Great Hall Restaurant with a vaulted ceiling and original wood panelling built in the seventeenth century. Visit a hotel that has been coloured by the characters of history. At The Lygon Arms, with its 78 rooms you can stay in the suite that King Charles I once stayed in the night before the Battles of Worcester in 1651. See the carvings of John Travis' name on the arch of the front door, etched into the hotel's history in 1620. An historic hotel in the heart of Broadway with a typically Cotswolds history. Dine in The Great Hall, Barringtons our typical all day dining brasserie or have lunch, a coffee or a Cotswold Gin and Tonic in one of our many lounges. A spa , swimming pool and The Lygon Gardens await you but most importantly the team look forward to welcoming you. . ... more   less
