This place is in a beautiful setting, the lounge areas are lovely and cosy, Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed with the food , this is obviously just one opinion and I'm sure lots of people love it but it's the only reason I wouldn't return. I had the cod which had been sous vide, I was surprised it hadn't been fried off after cooking, so It was a little slimy and not very warm. The chips tasted like they had been cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough. I just felt that given the price it wasn't really good enough. Breakfast was ok but it all felt a little style over substance (see ridiculous plate the porridge was served in)... That aside, the staff were really lovely , from check in, to cleaners and restaurant staff, everyone had a smile and seemed hapoy to have us there, it was a lovely place that is obviously popular, and the room was lovely and clean

Dear 891joo, Thank you for your feedback and just a shame it wasn't fed back to us at the time. I am so sorry the food didn't meet up to your expectations and I know the kitchen team will be disappointed. I tend to agree with you about the bowl for porridge and we are changing that thanks to your comment, especially for room service! I think your overall comment about breakfast is a little harsh when it shows the tray after having been started, and you only requested a limited number of items. I suspect it originally looked slightly better than the picture. Anyway thank you for your comments both good and bad and we certainly did learn something from it. Kind regards, Stephen

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in the Rose cottage and had a thoroughly relaxing time. Luxurious but with a homely feel there are lots of lounge areas with fires to sit and relax . The cottage itself was cosy with wood burning stove, very comfortable bed, and a gorgeous court yard with a hot tub. Dogs are very much welcomed and even get a bed, bowl toys and treat on arrival. We enjoyed the breakfast however felt would have been nice to have a small buffet area where the could help yourself to fruit and pastries. Dined at the back garden restaurant where the food was outstanding. Also used the spa which is small but lovely. If taking an electric I would recommend bringing a your own extension lead for charging as seemed to be a shortage at hotel .

Dear Needaholiday, Thank you for your feedback and I am so pleased you enjoyed your time with us. Interesting that you mention the need for a breakfast buffet, the review before you thinks otherwise? But we are intending to expand our buffet offering, so guests can help themselves to more than just the juice selection. Your comment about the car charging lead is a harsh one as luckily we do have a spare one, but only one, and in fact you used it on your first night, unfortunately another guest had the same issue in forgetting theirs and we had to give it to them as well. Thank you for your comments and hope we see you another time. Kind regards, Stephen

We spent two days here for my birthday. Staff are very good and friendly and our room was ready early so we could check in straight away. Having stayed previously at Foxhill Manor, I was concerned that Dormy House would be a large hotel. It is not. It is comfortable, and has a very nice feel. The spa is lovely and very clean. The second night we had dinner at Mo, which was really good and we enjoyed every course and the cucumber palate cleanser was excellent. We enjoyed the wine pairing too although a drop more than was served would have been nice. Breakfast was excellent and liked the fact that there was no buffet. Would happily stay again at Dormy House.

From start to finish.. outstanding! Given we have stayed at the fish before, and we’re not impressed. I was nervous about going here with a similar experience. I was very wrong! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm wish for our stay. The staff were great and couldn’t do enough. The spa was lovely and quiet, and the treatments.. wow! Meg.. you are an asset to the team. I had a wonderful pregnancy massage which was the most relaxed I’ve felt in the 8 months pregnancy.. then a facial which was just as relaxing. I also did the floating pod (which I’ve done before.. watch out for salt in the eyes!) which was fab and relaxing. and my partner had the new jet massage thing.. which he said was “ok” and maybe needed to play with he settings more.. if I have anything bad to say about the spa it would be the pool was way too cold.. I did one length and had to get out.. given (as I’m pregnant!) I couldn’t go in the jacuzzi or steam rooms I was disappointed the pool was so cold as I love swimming! Restaurant was fine.. very pricey and limited menu but the food was good and the staff were great. Breakfast was fantastic.. didn’t disappoint, very relaxed and great staff couldn’t do enough. All in all our stay was fantastic and I would highly recommend and come back! Maybe when I can enjoy the cocktails too 👏🏻

Booked at short notice and stayed in room 42, The Studio. Wow - just wow! Rarely do hotel rooms look better in reality than in the photographs (and virtual tour on the website!) but this is an exception. The Studio was a great place to relax ahead of a trip down to the amazing spa and then back for pre-dinner drinks whilst playing the eclectic mix of LPs and de-stressing on the drum kit. The restaurant had a relaxed ambience and the dinner fantastic, especially the Venison pudding. Breakfast was busier but the food quality was spot on. The room was so nice that we didn't spend any time in the main hotel lounge and bar areas - so we will have to use that as an excuse to return and stay again some time! Check-in and check-out was the easiest I've ever experienced, with the Stephen and his team being very attentive to guests arriving and departing. The inclusive mini bar and travel bag on check-out were welcome additions. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I spent 2 nights celebrating our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was first class. The hotel is beautifully laid out and the smell of the spa is heavenly. We stayed in a too notch room which was beautifully appointed with every single detail taken care of. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, which hasn’t always been my experience. On both evenings we dined in the main restaurant and although the menu is quite limited the food was of a very high standard and very tasty, with much of it locally sourced. Breakfast was a non rushed affair with a fabulous choice of hot and cold dishes. We didn’t use the spa but it looked classy with an inviting pool. There is also a well equipped gym. All of the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. A very special weekend and one that we would definitely repeat. Broadway itself is about 7 minutes in the car. However; I would advise visiting early as it gets very busy and I would imagine parking may be difficult. Highly recommended! Thank you.

Our stay was a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room initially seemed lovely but was actually somewhat uncomfortable. There was a bright green light for the fire alarm that was disturbing and the mattress was not supportive. We also had to crawl around on the floor to find an outlet to charge our phones. The dinner at the restaurant was good - we enjoyed some of the entrees but the prices were high so not sure about the value. Breakfast was quite good. Massage at the spa was very disappointing - treatment started late and ended early and was frustrating because the therapist asked what I wanted to focus on and then completely ignored the request (feet.) The setting of the hotel is terrific.

Dear mazlex537, Thank you for your feedback on TA just a shame you didn't let us know at the time about any of your frustrations as we could probably have put most things right for you. I appreciate your kind comments about the staff and the food, which was very good of you. And I know the Spa team will be disappointed with your feedback, we generally get very good comments about our Spa treatments. Kind regards, Stephen

Our second stay at this hotel and we were much more impressed with the hotel this time. Great service and very comfortable room. Our only disappointment is that there isn’t a more casual alternative for dinner. It would be great if you could eat in the hotel bar. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

A little but of heaven! Dormy House is beautifully designed and curated. The grounds are bucolic. But, the staff is the best. JJ, Bianca, Ilinka and Alex made us feel at home and the joy of making “new friends”. Oh, and the food was top notch-Yum.
