My partner and I recently visited the spa at Dormy House hotel as part of our stay at Foxhill. The facilities were absolutely incredible and once we exited the changing rooms we could feel our shoulders instantly drop as you walk into one of the nicest spa's I've ever been to. We can't wait to go back again soon.

Visited in mid January, luckily with glorious but frosty weather. Welcomed in the car park would you believe it, and all our luggage taken to the room. Reception is different - a young lady and a tablet already had our details so we were shown around the hotel and then to our room. We chose a dog friendly room separate to the hotel which was comfortable with all you could want .They suppled dog beds, bowls, toys and treats for both dogs. The atmosphere was relaxed and the main hotel areas were warm and cosy. The staff were courteous and very helpful .The bar area also known as the potting shed was very comfortable and snacks are readily available. We also chose to eat our dinner there since we wanted to have the dogs with us. Food was excellent with a small but concise menu. The wine list catered for all tastes and pockets. The gym and spa were well organised and not too crowded. There are “treatments” available if you desire. Lots of walks available from the hotel and beautiful Villages nearby. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

Dear adie23454, It was very kind of you to send in such a great review and we really appreciate it. We had just reopened after a 2 week closure and it is even more satisfying to know that were still getting it right. The concise menu is due to be expanded now we are fully open again, and I am so pleased you enjoyed the food. I hope we get chance to see you again soon. Kind regards, Stephen

Midweek break at this 'boutique' hotel, room rate & menu err on expensive (one starter £22?), limited choice of mains and iffy service in dining room (automatic service charge inappropriate). Ordered bread (delicious) but took 15+ mins. Wine: waiter never came to take order. Breakfast disorganised with 2 meals coming 10 mins opart, neither for us. Room was comfortable but light pollution under door - and woken by rowdy guests on corridor well past midnight. Staff gave odd directions to Broadway Tower, a map might have been useful. Asked gardener for way to hotel garden, directed via staff car park and met by a No entry sign, so gave up. Spa & gym excellent, but pool is too small for more than 2-3 people (they allow in 12 at a time). Have to prebook a pool time slot, not warned when booking or checking-in, so limited slots available - and when we booked times, reception then rang back to say they'd made a mistake. Room TV confusing, screen says it needs an App. Downstairs decor is v busy and trying too hard in places (like dining room). Single-use plastic toiletries inappropriate for eco-friendly hotel. Departure goody bay nice touch.

Dear GlobetrotterTwo, Thank you for your review and I am so sorry we seen to have got it wrong for you in so many ways. I have to say some of your comments do look like a case communication breakdown rather than anything we have done wrong, but i quite understand if you haven't been fully informed about things. For instance the directions to Broadway are available in a hard copy which we hand out or a QR code which is fairly visible in the lounge areas, so not sure what happened. The Hotel garden area is also extremely visible as it is what you see in the Back Garden restaurant for breakfast or dinner and you get to it by opening one of the doors? The pool area and sauna etc; is limited to 14 guests at any one time which seems to work as there is plenty of areas to enjoy, so again not sure what your comment suggests? We do warn guests to ensure they book space at booking and as pre arrival email, so not sure what happened with your stay and I am sorry if it frustrated you. Once again I appreciate your feedback and I am so sorry it didn't seem to work for you, but I really appreciate your comments and we shall work harder to get things right. Kind regards, Stephen

My first time at this gorgeous hotel, I can not recommend it highly enough. From the moment you enter the front door of the hotel, you feel warmly welcomed, instantly relaxed and immersed in a very special environment. The hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished throughout. The warmth of the fires and scent of the candles makes this the perfect place to stay on a winter break. Our room was beautiful too, extremely comfortable and has all you require. The food was excellent, delicious breakfast with a great choice and dinner was superb. Our restaurant host, Alex, was very professional and friendly, and an extremely hard worker. I had a fabulous full body massage with Gemma. The treatment rooms are lovely as is the whole spa area. Will definitely return - didn’t want to leave! Thanks all at Dormy House for a wonderful stay.

Dormy House is currently operating at less than full capacity (party due to the challenge of staff shortages which many businesses are facing). This means they can maintain an excellent standard of service and it’s a very wise decision. The rooms are very comfortable, the spa is great and also not too busy with timed entry slots. The food, both evening meals and breakfast, was consistently good with lots of care taken for food requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. The staff are all helpful and friendly, though the service is discreet. Marcus in the restaurant was very knowledgable and ensured we had a great experience. Ella in front of house was attentive and also Katy in the spa reception. We really appreciated the care we received and will be back in the summer!

Dear rivkahrex, Great to have see you recently and thank you for taking time to put a lovely review on. The team members you mention will be delighted and it was very kind of you to mention them in person. We have indeed kept the capacity slightly lower than normal due to the fact we have just reopened after 2 weeks being closed. Look forward to seeing you again in the Summer. Kind regards, Stephen
