Stayed here mid January. Lovely hotel with spacious reception and bar space. Breakfast was part of weekend deal and was very good. Room was spacious , quiet and clean with guest toiletries. Check about parking as it is valet parking and needs booking in advance and is about £25 per day. We parked by Riverside station and it was ten minute walk to hotel - virtually a quarter of the price. Staff were so polite and friendly. Unfortunately at breakfast this morning a guest with no manners whatsoever kicked off at a female member of staff because she didn’t have the decaf tea he wanted. The member of staff was incredibly professional - the guest threw a little tantrum and stormed out of the restaurant before having to be pacified by a member os staff. It was embarrassing - he was old enough to know better but it reflected how well the staff behave because I would happily have decked him! I do hope he reads this review and reflects on his appallingly childish behaviour over a tea bag. Windsor itself has some lovely restaurants as well as Eton a short walk away. I would definitely stay there again.

The Macdonald Windsor Hotel is situated right in the middle of the city, steps away from Windsor castle, restaurants and cafés. In addition, Legoland is only a 10-minute drive away. The room was nice and spacious, with a lovely Nespresso machine ready to use! The bar in the lobby was a great added bonus after a day of sightseeing. One note: the hotel has a garage, but make sure to pre-book a parking place, as it can fill-up quickly. We forgot to reserve a spot, but the staff went far and beyond to accommodate us. We couldn’t have picked a better place for a weekend getaway. The hotel, location and staff were superb and as stated in the title, Mrs. Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced: Bouquet) would definitely approve of the Macdonald Windsor Hotel!

We stayed in December so the hotel was decked out for Christmas, very nicely done. We had a room with a view of the castle which was great . The room itself was a good size and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both meals were very good. Just across the road from the castle and very near the shopping area and with parking made it very convenient. Staff were very helpful & hospitable. Would definitely recommend.

The saying goes that the staff make a hotel, and the staff at the Macdonald hotel really do make this hotel a wonderful place to stay. The hotel itself is absolutely immaculate and our room was faultless. We stayed at the hotel the night before visiting Lapland UK with our 3 year old little girl and they couldn't do enough for her to make her stay that extra special. After leaving Lapland UK my daughter wanted to go back to the hotel for another night. This is a great hotel and one that I'll be using again. A perfect place if you visiting Legoland or Lapland next Christmas.
