Outstanding stay - we were blown away by the polite and helpful staff from the moment we arrived to the departure when we were taken down to the basement car park to collect our car with bottles of cold water. It was super hot. This hotel is perfectly centrally located for all aspects of visiting Windsor:- castle, restaurants and river boat rides. We could see the castle from our hotel room. The room was super clean and deluxe with a huge double shower. There was air con in the hotel and room too as it was very hot when we visited. 4 of us. 1 x double and 1 twin room. The bar was atmospheric with lovely comfy sofas or tables to sit at. The breakfast was a buffet - very nice… continental to full English. The staff were amazing. They would all get 11/10 A*+ so the General Manager who we didn’t meet should be incredible proud of his staff as they made our stay from lovely to perfect - outstanding - superb. To name just a few was the receptionist - maybe it was Hayley, Matt (you were superb with your knowledge of Windsor), Dean, Steve - nothing was too much trouble. I’ve recommended this hotel to a number of friends since arriving home - you will be kept busy with bookings trust me. People are quick to complain. Well this is my compliment - very very well deserved. Thank you all.…
Spent one night here and could of easily stayed longer. Hotel a stones throw away from the Castle, hotel throughout so very clean and lovely. Staff were wonderful , helpful and polite from the minute you walked through the door, they couldn't do enough for you. Evening meal was wonderful and presented well, even breakfast was the same with so much choice. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
The Macdonald Windsor Hotel is in a great location from which to explore. Just across the road from Windsor Castle, it has cafes, restaurants and shops right on the doorstep. Our room was good - well maintained and with air conditioning. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was fine - a decent selection but possibly more limited than normal due to COVID. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We parked in the multi-storey car park a few minutes walk away, but I believe there is some parking closer to the hotel subject to availability. I would recommend the hotel as a good base when visiting Windsor.
My wife and I stayed one night atnMacdonald Windsor hotel. The staff are fantastic and really engaging. Perfect location at around 30-40 yards from WIndsor Castle. Turn left, and you're there. The car park, while feeling pricy at £35 took the stress of finding a car parking space in a city I didn't know. It's under the hotel so nice and cool and secure. I believe I could have parked in town for circa £15, but for the convenience, £20 was a price I was happy to pay. The room was clean and the air conditioning was welcomed. We had a standard room so we got a view of a roof, but we were only in the room for sleep. We wanted to be out and about. All in all a fantastic stay
From start to finish we could not find fault with this hotel. We paid £35 for parking (so worthwhile in the centre of Windsor) and were greeted by the concierge who guided us in and took us up to reception. Ladies on reception were so helpful. The room 223 was very good large enough (window overlooks another hotel window but was not a problem) the bathroom and shower were great. Elemis products are a great addition. Dinner in the evening was ok and the food was good but not fine dining. Again waiting staff were well trained which was good in these covid times. Breakfast again was of a good standard. This hotel is so well placed for Windsor Castle, the Long Walk. We have stayed in another hotel in Windsor in the same street but the Macdonald was much better. We will be back.
