Our daughter bought us an afternoon tea at the Riviera. When we arrived there was only one of the tables in the large dining room in use but we were told that we were to be seated on a table in the corner as this was used for bookings for "Groupon" which felt like we were the "poor relations" being...

The Hotel was clean, and the free WiFi is a bonus. I was lucky enough to be booked into a Family room with views over the Thames. The room was large with a sofa, desk and large double bed. The room was nicely furnished and the toiletries provided were excellent. Cooked breakfast was not available at 7am a couple of...

The venue was spacious for a large party for Xmas Lunch and the food was decent considering it was a large group (over 20). The staff seemed to cope very well to fit in with the unusual timings of the service to fit in the organised activities, and we had plenty of space around - the weather being very unseasonal...

We checked in around five pm and we were allocated a gorgeous room with a bay window, you could see the river. The room was clean and well equipped, only a shower but that suited us. The bar was very lively and reasonably priced. We didn't eat there even though breakfast was included in the room but that was only...

I booked a double room in September 2016, for a one night stay on December 17, 2016, as my son in law was celebrating his 50th birthday and the hotel was walking distance to the venue where the celebration was to be held. The booking was done through Booking.com. On the morning of 17th, I received a telephone call from...

We stayed at the Thames Riviera hotel, NOT to be confused with the Thames Hotel which we had found quite inferior the previous week, just a few days after Christmas. We were greeted somewhat over enthusiastically by the receptionist who made the assumption that we were in Maidenhead to continue partying. We were actually on our way home from a...

What a dump...yet in summertime a fabulous outdoor setting alongside the river Thames..A Groupon" treat" of afternoon tea with prosecco....such a missed opportunity of lack-lustre service,no evident management, cold and scruffy appearance and without character, bright lights like a bus station in atmosphere with dark, chipwood type scruffy tables left uncleared. The event consisted of thick-cut wafer thin jelly ham type sandwiches, and...

This hotel is in a lovely position. The rooms we occupied were good, nothing really special but okay, clean and quite large. What lets this hotel down are the staff. We found two or three worked hard and tried their best to be helpful but the rest just did not care. On our first evening meal we had to continually...

I'd steer clear of this establishment; a great setting with no depth. A lack lustre environment (surprising, considering the associated festive season). You'd be better off spending your money else where. The woman presenting front of house has a terrible attitude and doesn't understand 'customer service'. Our evening was ruined due to poor administration and total disregard for Trading Standards...
