Stayed in September 2021, was greeted at reception by Megan who kindly offered us a complimentary drink. The hotel is in a great location just over the bridge from Windsor, our ground floor room was very light and a good size. The Hypnos beds are superb. All the staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend.

Really cannot fault the location of the hotel - even though on Eton High Street, there was no traffic noise and it is literally a 5-10min walk to Windsor Castle. Check in was fast and faultless & staff were really kind in carrying the cases up two flights of stairs (listed building hence why no lifts). First impression of room wasn’t great - there was a tear in the voile and the curtains looked like what you would perhaps see in ‘student accommodation’. The bathroom looked very tired & in need of some TLC - none of the photos on the website depicted this room I’m afraid. It was comfortable nevertheless. All the staff were lovely, especially the young lady at breakfast each morning. The breakfast was plentiful, being able to help yourself to fresh fruit, cereals, juice and pastries then having a good choice of cooked options. Would love to stay again but would suggest giving the room/s a bit of refinement and an upgrade.

I booked this because it was dog friendly and close to Windsor. We stayed two nights and would happily have stayed longer. The room (a courtyard king size) was fab with a great shower. The food, breakfast and particularly the evening meal we had was really tasty and well worth the money. What made this a truly great experience though were the management and the team. They were amazing and it was clear that they all really like dogs. Freddie (our dalmatian) was made to feel like royalty. A special thanks to Laura, who was simply amazing. Thanks everyone! Parking was tight (we have a big car) but felt safe and convenient. Access to the dog field was handy if a little overgrown when we went, The room was rather warm even with a window open and no heating. With an outside temperature of low 14c and high 18c we still need the very handy room fan supplied. It's really close to Heathrow, so do expect to hear planes.

Good hotel. Room was small but fine. Shower was powerful. Parking can be an issue but apparently you can pre book but I don't know how they reserve a space as it seems a free for all. Service at breakfast was poor. Arrived at 8.25 am and didn't get tea or coffee for 25 minutes after we ordered. I got my granola within five minutes of ordering ,but considering it was all I ordered I was disappointed to receive a small hand full when you think people can have full breakfast. I wanted yogurt with my granola but they didn't have any . My wife ordered eggs benedict but had to wait 35 minutes for it. Looking around the room there was a lot of people unhappy at the service and the time it took to receive tea or coffee. After 35 minutes we were just about to leave and they brought us our toast which we ordered as soon as we walked in. I don't know if this is normal service but the staff seemed to very unorganised and didn't know who had ordered what. This needs sorting out for what ever reason. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay and its local to everything.

Response from Ross Munro, General Manager at Christopher Hotel
Responded Aug 20, 2021
Good afternoon, I am disappointed to hear that our breakfast was not up to our usual high standards whilst you were with us, we are taking breakfast times to avoid large amounts of guests all arriving at once so we can focus on our service, sadly this did not seem to work whilst you were with us. We hope to see you again soon to show you that this was just a small blip in our normal high standards of service. Kind regards, Ross Munro General Manager
