If you are looking for historical lodgings, I recommend this place. Our family of three had a very generous room that was well appointed and modern bathroom facilities. The location was great (close to the cathedral). The downstairs restaurant was excellent; staff are friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

This hotel, well placed for access to the centre of Salisbury, is full of character and offers a real taste of luxury whilst maintaining the original character of the building. With many of the bedrooms refurbished to a high quality, the owners have achieved an excellent balance of old and new. The hotel restaurant can get very busy in the... More

After staying at Salisbury and not knowing where to go and eat, we resorted to TripAdvisor. This restaurant appealed to us because if the wide choice on the menu, and we wasn't disappointed! The food was amazing, and the service was just as good, from the very warm welcome and until we got the bill at the end of our... More

We reserved a family room at The Chapter House. We had a fantastic visit, and were made to feel so welcome. We had a great family room at the top of the building. The beds were excellent, and the bathroom, with it's stand alone Victorian bath a hit with the children. The breakfast on Sunday morning was superb. Finally, all... More

This is a lovely hotel, full of character , yet stylish - it has been beautifully renovated . It's walking distance from everything in Salisbury and parking is easy to arrange. We had 3 large rooms, all different, but all equally nice, and breakfast was delicious . Would highly recommend.

I've been here for dinner on a number of occasions. Each time, I've been really impressed by the food, the service and the wine. They do the best steak I've eaten in Salisbury. Definitely worth a visit.

This is an easy review to right as i have nothing bad to say about the stay, everything was exactly how we wanted it. Situated perfectly for the town and exploring the surrounding areas. Service from Thannasis and his staff was superb. All the food was very tasty, well cooked and presented. Our room was clean spacious and my girlfriend... More

Had a lovely meal here last week with my family, food was great and the service relaxed and friendly. There's a good atmosphere and the diners aren't kept seperate to those who have come in for a drink. Their g&ts are a treat bu the way.

I haven't had a bad meal there since it has changed hands. The roast dinners are amazing! Some of the staff are lovely and I love the decor.i even go in for just drinks (the gin and tonics are like fish bowls) but bring lots of money because the drink are very expensive from other pubs.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of historic Salisbury, The Chapter House comprises a cosy steakhouse restaurant, friendly pub and 17 comfortable letting rooms. It lies within easy reach of some of Southern England's most important landmarks. The stone for the Salisbury Cathedral, a mere five minute walk away, was cut in what is now the restaurant, making the hotel's initial construction almost 800 years old. Some of the original stone and ironwork is still left exposed inside the property. The 17 boutique en-suite rooms are all unique and quirky, some with original panelling and fireplaces and all with fluffy goose down duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, luxurious H2K toiletries and flatscreen TVs. The Chapter House boasts a bustling restaurant and grillhouse where flame grilled steaks, a la carte dining and hearty pub food are served in an ambient environment. The perfect base when visiting Wiltshire's historic sites, The Chapter House is also an ideal stop over en route to the coast or as a home-from-home option when on a business trip. ... more   less
