I stayed over for 3 days (2 nights), amazed at how compact and functional dry wall partitioning can be, even the shower, but absolutely no complaints, I never heard a mouse let alone anyone else in the establishment, so the job was done extremely well and professionally. Food was great, atmosphere good, hospitality was great. I asked when I could... More

I was quite surprised/amazed to see these very negative reviews of the New Inn at Avebury, my partner and myself have stayed here for two years running now during July 2011 and 2012 and we just love the New Inn! Landlady Sandra and her helpers have never been anything else than very polite and helpful! We travel to Avebury each... More

We came from Salisbury, and had booked this place before we left home. We were greeted by a charming fellow who helped us with our bags. The rooms looked like they had last been renovated in 1979. Lots of cheap formica, iffy room dividers, and cheap bathroom fittings. no matter, we were in the English countryside, and it was glorious.... More

I should have checked TripAdvisor before I booked. I agree with all the previous negative comments -damp dingy room; dirty bathroom; heater plug hanging off the wall. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for still adverting and being prepared to take people's money for such sub standard accommodation. We took one look, picked up our bags and fortunately were... More

I've noticed all the previous negative reviews ! when we phoned up to book in for the week we were informed straight away that the pub was no longer in business and that it was just a B&B and told about the cooked breakfasts being extra , i didn't find this a problem as the price was very reasonable for... Really wish we had checked this site before booking in for the night... We arrived and noticed the New Inn was up for sale, which was fair enough. Went into the main pub and the landlady was waiting (quite a strange lady I have to say..), and she took my details etc and we paid the £60. First shock was... More

Made the mistake of not checking Trip Advisor and were a little suspicious to find the premises up or sale when we arrived but had booked from the New Inn website. Problem one - It is no longer a pub, hence no food. Cooked breakfast extra as well. Problem two - On suite, no way. Toilet and shower separate parts... More

Unfortunately we didn't check tripadvisor before booking this dump of a place.... If we had we certainly would not have booked. Totally agree with all the 'terrible' reviews on this page - it was really disgusting. We arrived at the New Inn to spend one night there - and the slightly odd but otherwise actually quite friendly landlady showed us... More

In May 2011, the proprietress chose to share her views about Pakistani people with us. We were shocked. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. (We're Americans, of mixed ethnic backgrounds.) Hint to owner: Just because people may look "white" to you doesn't mean they share your revolting attitudes. Unless someone new buys the place, do yourself a favor and... More

A basic room in the building next to the pub (no longer in operation.) The arrangement of the room is hilarious: the toilet here, the shower elsehwere but close enought to the bed that my husband could have probably handed me the soap had I needed it, and the sink still in a different location. The room is very small... More
