This hotel was just perfect for a little mid week break and it was just lovely. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble and the restaurant was just delicious. Really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to coming back sometime!

When we made the booking we asked for a quiet room. The first room we were given was next to the lift. The second was right over the reception and the main entrance. This was not what you expect when you are checking in at 2pm. They are in the middle of a makeover so areas are cordoned off. Breakfast...

Tiny room, badly sound proofed. You could hear the neighbours and people in the corridor very clearly. Breakfast room was a cold conference hall, cheerless, not a decoration and we were there over Christmas, other rooms were festive; ugly furniture, very patchy service for teas etc. Fine food if you want a cooked breakfast, but no wholemeal bread, no milky...

Stayed for one night and that was enough. Long wait to check in and no offer of assistance with our cases. Breakfast was like something out of Faulty Towers with the two staff running around like headless chickens. The hotels staffing issues were not mine and I was disappointed that a conversation regarding this was held right next to my...

Asked for a glass of water with my meal in the hotel restaurant they brought me a bottle and charged me £1.80 for the privilege ( standard in hotels I guess ) but not when...

The hotel is nice and clean & food is very nice, however the rooms are very noisy and if that wasn’t bad enough at 4am we were both woken up by well we can only describe it as an aeroplane taking off. We did make a complaint and we were told the kitchen extractor units malfunctioned around 5 am, we...

Stayed at this hotel on a business trip for one night - lovely place! However the restaurant was fantastic ! Staff more than accommodating - tasters of ales before choosing and a pizza that was better than I tried in Italy last year. My colleague had steak - one of the best he had eaten . Can't say much more...

Upgraded on arrival which was nice. Room was huge, bed very comfy. Only let down by a leaking shower and the bath drained super slow Breakfast was very nice and buffet style but had to ask for coffee which given the number of staff was avoidable Will use again
