The accommodation is as always basic. We did not have a shower in the bathroom but were given a shower attachment free of charge. Room very clean and attended to each day. Food again was basic but a good choice and an excellent Salad Bar. The entertainment was excellent The Len Phillips Big Band. They not only played in the... More

We went here in May and had a fantastic time , the food was delicious the staff were great and the entertainment was absolutely brilliant. The only thing that lets this village down is the accommodation. The curtains don't fit the carpet isn't clean and you have to shuffle past each other to get around there is no room to... More

Spent a week here recently, we read the reviews and thought it sounded a fantastic place. I believe this is an old Pontins site and it looks like it. We went to our chalet opened the door to find very basic accommodation, one double bed a wardrobe with no doors but a curtain as there was no room to open... More

I have said it all many times but we really do love returning here. There is always a warm welcome and it feels as though we are part of a homely friendly community. Nothing is ever too much trouble . This visit we met two new members of entertainment staff, Roxy and Stuart. What a talent he is with his... More

Went for a Line dance weekend which was good fun, fabulous entertainment with workshops and social dancing. We had a half board booking, the meals were ok, Chicken was a tad dry, however, the Beef & Yorkshires with veg was lovely on Sunday evening. They ask you to pre order your starter for both breakfast and dinner although they will... More

For the second year running attended the Boogaloo Blues weekend and, once again, the Promoter of the event, and the Manager & staff of South Downs, ensured that guests were treated to a wonderful weekend, in terms of both entertainment & hospitality. The food, which has always been of a high standard was, in my opinion, the best it has... More

We have been here a few times, so knew what to expect. It was worth paying a little extra for the larger chalets, as the rooms are bigger and there are usually 2 separate rooms. Fairly basic amenities, and you can choose a bath or shower. Beds OK, and the heating worked a treat. Food was good, and the staff... More

Have to say, on first going into my chalet, I thought " im not liking this ", but the room was always nice and warm, the bed, although looking like it could be hard and lumpy, was surprisingly comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was really powerful, and again always hot. Only 1 socket in the room which was a... More
