In the interests of balance, the free car parking was very convenient, the street was actually pretty quiet during the day, staff were good and the location is great for exploring the town
The staff were very helpful and explained the changes to the service due to the corona virus restrictions clearly
The room was up to the normal Travelodge high standard .
Would stay here again.
Standard Travelodge accommodation.
We were in the back of the hotel so it was quiet.
Cathedral bells only started @ 7am so did not disturb our sleep.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Would definitely return.
My only suggestion for improvement would be for hotel to clean the stairway from the car park. Appreciate it's not their car park, but if used by guests would improve the journey between the hotel and car park.
The pluses: Central location, very clean, efficient check in, quiet, hand sanitisers and good COVID protocols.
The minuses: Whilst reception is efficient, it s not helpful with issues outside of remit (I suppose because of basic package): I asked for an extension cable as use a CPAP machine to sleep and wall sockets were on adjacent side to the bed, but was directed to Robert Dyas ( additional £10 for a product I won't need again!). My fault for assuming there would be a power socket near the bed?
Parking option is awful. Underground car park with limited spaces next door to hotel. When full, you wait for a car to leave before you can get a parking space. I waited for over 25 minutes after a long drive. Not what you want to be doing on a break. If using note the traffic light system (Red/Green lights on access to the car park) doesn't work - permanently stuck on red for access and green for departure, regardless of available spaces.
Our bathroom sink was blocked and did not drain (you would have thought the cleaner would have noted this when cleaning before our arrival).
The TV remote did not work (possibly needed new batteries).
Other than the parking issue (you may be lucky with a space when you arrive), I could live with the rest at the price and understand why an extension cable wasn't available, but would honestly pay more happily next time to not have the parking problems and a reception staff that will go 'the extra mile' to help
Personal choice and if you are happy with just a very basic overnight stay in a central and quiet location, and don't mind potentially waiting for a parking space, it will be fine for you.
On arrival I was advised by reception staff to park opposite hotel entrance rather than in underground parking for my own safety.
Shower pressure wash very low and whole room and bathroom felt tired and a bit dirty which is unlike my previous business travel experiences with Travelodge.
I booked this thinking “at least you know what you’re getting with Travelodge”, but I absolutely had NO idea what I was getting! Absolutely avoid at all costs - I’d prefer to drive 5 hours round trip in a day, than ever stay here again!
The hotel is in a great location, hidden down a side street of Chichester city centre.
As with all travelodge’s, the rooms are functional, always clean, the beds are very comfortable and clean with additional pillows provided if required.
As stated, the biggest positive to this hotel, is the team members that I have had the pleasure of dealing with, to list just a few that have become quite recognisable, for their customer service are Gina (manager) Elen (supervisor) jo (beanie), and Sarah! And I feel sad I can’t remember everyone’s names, as I have not had one bad experience from the team at the hotel, they all do a fab job, and deserve the recognition for the tough job they have had this past year, still remaining open during the pandemic and as they were one of the selected hotels that have been housing the rough sleepers during the pandemic, they have made the best of a bad situation, and taken it in their stride and acting as “support” for these people.....and having worked with the homeless myself, I know how challenging it can be and so I can’t commend them enough!
You’re always greeted by a friendly smiling face and A clean room.....what more can you ask for?!
Abs just a final pointer......the rooms I’ve been getting ranging from £22.99-29.99 per night, you can’t complain!!
I am not a NIMBY but should paying customers be expected to share accomodation with persons who normally sleep rough?
