We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We had been upgraded to a bigger room and the facilities were excellent with high class toiletries and tea and coffee. We were also supplied with dressing gowns slippers and big fluffy towels. Breakfast was included in the price and was also excellent with a very good selection and generous portions. We had dinner on the first night which was also very good and reasonably priced. The hotel itself is in an ideal location for access to local amenities and also for places further afield I would highly recommend a stay in this excellent place

Just returned from our 2nd visit to the swan, as last time it was excellent!! We stayed in room 6 which was an ‘indulgence room’ it was perfect for us. The room was very clean and comfortable with a nespresso machine and 6 pods which is a good amount for 2 people for one night, also great selection of teas and coffee bags too and like the touch of a flask of cold milk and a couple of bottles of water. The bathroom was amazing with a large walk-in shower and a beautiful roll top bath. The Dyson fan in room is a great touch too especially when it’s warm. We had lunch before we checked in which was really nice. I can’t comment on main meals as had booked a restaurant in the town with friends for dinner. breakfast was lovely, a great choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereal and pastry’s, off the menu we had the full English breakfast which was great and seemed good quality produce. We liked our stay so much that as we checked out we have booked for a night in November in room 10 which I was told was lovely and had a roll top bath again which I love !! and we will def try the restaurant for our meal as it’s a Sunday and the roast looks amazing

We stayed at the Swan for one night, on arrival we were greeted by a lovely staff member who told us times of dinner and breakfast etc she asked if we wanted some fresh milk for the room which was given to us in a nice flask to keep it cold ( not the usual long life milk you get in hotel rooms in little plastic pots). We had booked 2 double rooms both furnished well, no wardrobe but hangers to hang cloths on the rooms were large and decorated very well and spotlessly clean, lovely bath robes & slippers. Both rooms had a Dyson fan in which we were extremely pleased about as the weather was so hot & the windows only opened a small amount. One of our rooms had a nespresso coffee machine in aswell as a kettle where the other room only had a kettle, however that room had a stunning bath aswell as a shower. Breakfast & dinner was lovely a great menu & all served by friendly staff. The pub Is 5 minutes walk to Arendal Castle, the lido & the local shops which was great. So glad we stayed at Swan no complaints.

Quaint essential hotel in an ever so English location.
The Swan hotel is an original Georgian coaching Inn in the medieval market town, Arundel.
If you are visiting England from overseas, please please please visit Arundel. It isn't a typical English town, it is what many overseas visitors perceive to be a typical English town. There is a fairytale castle, a monestry, a water mill, a bustling high street full of antique shops, tea shops serving amazing tea & cakes, a picturesque river, lots of history and The Swan hotel. The hotel itself is at the lower end of the high street close to the river and the castle entrance. There is a car park (Parking lot) at the rear of the hotel but it costs £8.80/24hr period. To their credit the hotel does suggest other parking options that work out cheaper or free. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. We were quickly checked in and assigned to our room. We had taken a lower budget option so we weren't surprised to find ourselves in a small room with adequate on suite facilities. The room was comfortable but, first of our two minor moans, there was a constant pulsating droning hum that went on throughout the night causing a slight disturbance to our sleep. I did report this to the staff as I checked out and they said they would investigate. The second moan concerns the shower, it had less force than a peeing budgerigar. Took ages to shower under a very unsatisfactory stream of water. That really could do with updating. And now - the food. Honestly I don't know why this place doesn't have a Michelin star. The food was amazing. Fresh ingredients, well cooked and brilliantly presented.
All in all, a hotel I would go back to.

It was my husband’s birthday and we arrived on a snowy cold day to a warm and friendly pub. Had a couple of hot toddies and checked in to our lovely warm room. Coffee machine, kettle, good coffee, tea bags, bottled water and chocolates were supplied. The bathroom had a great shower and claw bath, white fluffy gowns were provided. We had a good dinner and a bottle of wine served by friendly staff. Breakfast was served by the lovely Yvonne and was ample. Booked direct with the hotel. Arundel is a lovely town to walk around and we parked in the car park behind the hotel only £7.40 for 24 hours.

We've stayed here a few times and always loved it. On this occasion, while the staff and the restaurant lived up to their former outstanding glories, the 'Indulgent' room (3) was disappointing. The decor definitely requires attention with peeling and chipped paintwork in both the bedroom and the very small bathroom. The sash windows had clearly been painted whilst shut as when opened the unpainted section was displayed! Despite two windows, the room was pretty dark and would benefit from a desk lamp as well as a mirror. The bathroom also needs some hooks on the door or wall, as the extremely small towel rail will not accommodate both wet and dry towels. That said, as mentioned up front, the staff are always fantastic and the food served in the restaurant was excellent, but not certain we'd return if all the rooms are of the same standard of decor.

We booked a few different hotels to visit during a short break and we actually thought this would be the dud as it was significantly less expensive than all the rest. Boy were we surprised. This is definitely the hotel we will be staying at again as soon as possible. The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything. Close to the castle. Next to the shops. Overlooking the river. Lots of antique, vintage and retro shops nestled in among boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is smart, beautiful interior and modern. Exceptionally clean. Spotless. Our room was light and airy. Plenty of room. A full bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Staff were friendly, helpful and happy. We drank in the bar Ate in the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. I really can't rate this enough. Two minor details if you stay there. There is no on site parking but there is a pay and display at the side and 24 hour stay was only a few pounds. Secondly as with ALL hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in, there is always an issue using the mirror set aside for applying cosmetics. Standing at wet bathroom basin and mirror is not ideal. The dressing room mirror in the room was in a dark area. The other was side on to natural light and you had to perch on the end of the bed to try to use it. Please can we have a light up mirror? That's just me. I can't not rate this hotel 10/10. It was fabulous.

We picked this restaurant as a group of five friends on a weekend retreat. We were visiting the castle and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. We arrived at 1.30 thinking we had plenty of time to eat and still arrive in time for the 4pm entry deadline to the castle. The restaurant was fairly empty on arrival. We placed our orders and then after half an hour we asked if they’d be much longer as we had a deadline, to be told it had only been half an hour since we’d placed the order and since everything is cooked from scratch we should expect a wait. We had only ordered sandwiches and a quiche. When the food eventually arrived, after nearly an hour, we were extremely disappointed. The jerk chicken had no seasoning at all and was just plain chicken without the advertised garlic mayo and the pumpkin and goats cheese quiche was inedible. We were offered a discount but won’t be returning.

There’s parking out the back which isn’t that expensive £7 for 24hrs
Even though the room is next to a road there wasn’t any noise at nighttime.
Breakfast was included and was brilliant.
Waitress serving breakfast was very professional

We had a lovely corner room which was well appointed and with a lovely bath. The bed was very comfortable and the room surprisingly quiet. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Arundel and the surrounding area. There is paid parking available behind the hotel and you can pay by mobile which makes things easier.
The stairs to the rooms can be a little challenging but the staff are on hand to help with bags if needed. Breakfast was good.
