Had recently given you a really good review but on Saturday we were very disappointed, maybe you had a different chef, the calamari was ordered because before it was dry and really good last time, this time it was prepared in a different way and dripping in fat sent it back and it came back exactly the same, shame!!!

Dear Pea1923, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear that your experience this time was not up to our usual standard. I will speak to my kitchen staff about this to ensure that it does not happen again as it is very important to me that we are consistent. I hope you would still visit again....

We visited The Swan Hotel for Sunday Roast dinner. The starter of Smoked Mackeral pate was a bit of a let down, the portion of pate compared to toast was disappointing (well how much pâté can you get on two small triangles of bread? - toasted with a hairdryer ) Our main meals were fine, roast half chicken and roast...

Dear Kay M, Thank you for taking the time to review us. Firstly, I'm glad the main meals were fine and that you would recommend the 2 4 1 cocktails. Secondly, I'm sorry to hear that the ratio of pate to toast was disappointing and I will discuss this with my kitchen staff. With regard to the front of house...

We have stayed here several times before and love the friendly staff, lovely room and excellent breakfast. A slight hiccup on arrival but all sorted before bedtime. We are coming back in July for a longer stay.

Did not like first room we were offered (room 4) because the window opened onto a flat roof with large extractor fans on it. When we asked for an alternative room after a short time we were given a room which was much better (room 15) and were told it was an upgrade.

Comfortable room. Although would have liked the option of having a bath Not sure if this facility was available! Excellent food and very well presented both at breakfast and dinner. Good choice on menu. Felt very comfortable eating on my own. Staff friendly.

Stayed here a couple of times on business, lovely bar area and drinks are reasonable. The rooms are really smart, nice décor and good amenities. To have egg royal for breakfast included in the price that are done to a high standard is rare. Food is excellent. Would stay again, great for business or if you are having a weekend...

Sunday night stay over the Bank Holiday weekend including dinner. Firstly to the rooms which were clean, with comfy beds and linen. The larger of the 2 rooms had a bathroom with separate shower / bath, whilst the smaller room had only a (good) shower. I'd recommend booking a larger room as it was much more light and spacious. Dinner...

I found staff at the Swan very friendly, and even enjoyed an unexpected (and good) pub quiz whilst enjoying a relaxing beer. Dinner was light but tasty, I went for the salmon with new potatoes and salad. The room was bright and clean and the mattress on the bed vet comfortable. The only downside was intrusive traffic noise; there wasn't...
