My family booked a surprise afternoon tea for my Aunties 90th birthday and we were all more than happy with the service and food that we had for the price we payed. I've got to say the staff were absolutely brilliant and went out of their way to make sure it was a perfect afternoon, also the sandwiches and cakes were... More

We arrived at around 7:30 in the evening after a longish drive from Essex. Parking was ample, free and in the grounds of the hotel. There was no one on reception as staff were busy serving in the restaurant. However, it was relatively easy to attract their attention and we were dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. Help... More

We stayed one night and whilst the room was large it was tired and very tatty in parts. I believe the hotel is being refurbished and this should havens mentioned when booking. Most of the staff were friendly, but the waitress on duty when we had breakfast was dreadful. Moaning how busy she was, spilling milk on the floor next... More

A party of 16 gathered to help celebrate Uncle's special birthday over Sunday lunch. We all had a great time, so huge thanks to all concerned. The staff were very helpful from the outset. There was a good choice of courses and our meal was delicious. The icing on the cake was THE CAKE! The sun even shone and we... More

The Jacobean was everything I'd hoped for when I stayed overnight on a Sunday for business. The Jacobean has perfect access to the NEC only a 10 minute drive away. I would have normally paid premium prices for a generic soulless hotel near to Birmingham, however this hotel offered fantastic value and a warm welcome. The food was freshly prepared... More

We were planning on staying at a lovely pub near Stratford on Avon, but it turns out that weekend there was a bicycle race, hunting exhibit and food festival so all the rooms in most of the hotels were taken. We had no idea where to go so drove to Coventry and per chance found the lovely old Jacobean Hotel.... More

Came here for my mum's 50th birthday meal. Food was distinctly average and the service was appalling. Waitresses were rude and only interested in chatting amongst themselves about an upcoming date! Wait between courses was too long and plates not cleared in a timely fashion. Such a shame as this place has potential.

We stayed here for one night as my aunts 100th birthday lunch was being held in the restaurant the next day. The lady who greeted us was also the barmaid and waitress and wow, I haven't seen anyone work as hard as her in years! She was amazing. Anyway we were given room 38 which was the four poster bed... We arrived around 19:30 and on checking we were informed of mix up with our rooms. Paula the receptionist/barmaid/ waitress could not have been more apologetic or helpful. She & the Chef let us order food despite being time for the kitchen to close. The food was tasty, well presented and huge portions. Our rooms were recently refurbished and had... More
