This hotel is friendly, clean and has character. The check in was easy, and the girls so helpful, even carrying my bag to my room. The room was a little tired, so I asked if there was a better room, and although the best rooms were booked out, they kindly moved me. The next room was full of character and... More

Staff great. Rooms are packed in together, so drunks coming from the bar at 1am wake you up. Fan in the toilet sound like a taxing jumbo jet and stays on for 10 mins after the light. The rooms are very tired. The rooms smell of 100 years of smokers. Even the fresh new sheets smell of cigarettes bad. I... More

Well, the hotel is well appointed with what appears to be refurbishments being made both in and out. To the rear of the hotel is work in progress including a lovely little bridge over a brook or river(?) leading to picnic area overlooking fields and a stable with a few horses. I expect this will lovely area to relax in... More

My hubby & I renewed our wedding vows and celebrated with a few family and friends here. We chose afternoon tea. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff, shown to our beautifully laid out tables & generally treated like royalty. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was plentiful. Tea & coffee on tap. Delicious cakes. No... More

Our anniversay meal this year was at the Jacobean in Holyhead Rd Coventry. Only one other occupied table was in the restaurant and we were a bit worried. But we were very suprised, the staff were first class and very attentive, meal ordered, 1 steak & 1 lamb, and when it came presentation was 1st class, the taste was spot on... More

Easy to locate on the outskirts of Coventry this hotel provides perfect accommodation for a three-star hotel. For the price the outcome is fine. Other people seem to expect something far grander for three stars and I have to wonder why. Check in was remarkably casual, not even a demand for ID which might be a bit worrying in this... More

There was no-one on reception when I arrived, had to interpret a wake to be able to check in, which was both awkward and uncomfortable. The room was decades out of date, even the toilet seat was worn and the bath & shower looked awful. I was in roo 37, it was cold and needed both heaters on. The bathroom... More

My wife and I are regular Sunday lunchers here. The quality of food and service is always of the highest standard. This Sunday there was a large party of people and the room was pretty full, but the staff took it all in their stride with exemplary service and no drama. The Jacobean just gets better and better.
