I visited here with some friends to soak up the sun. It was very quiet which suites us- the garden is large with lots of places to sit and a few gazebos to seal shade as it really is a sun trap! Service was great and the food was delicious and well priced. Definitely recommend for a sunny day drinking... More

The standard double room that we had was very dim, brown and old looking, but not antique 'jacobean' style looking, just old and dilapidated. The bed was ok, but it kept coming away from the wall because there were no headboards. Outside noise was not helped by rowdy guests that were clearly drunk and very loud at around 2am, and... More

The room we stayed in itself was lovely, good decor and was spacious. We had a 2 week old baby and there was lots of room to bring our own Moses basket. However, our stay was marred by one major issue. The keys open all the doors! This is clearly a serious issue and left us very concerned about the... More

Stayed here last October with my children on the way to Alton Towers. Room was a bit tired, but OK. Haved stayed 3 times in the last month and all three rooms I've stayed in have been renovated to a good standard. Breakfast has been good, so all in all this is is a good budget place to stay.

We booked to stay one night, we had a nice welcome, and the room was very clean and very spacious, and the bed was very comfy, it looked very deceiving from the outside, and as we walked to the room there was some wallpaper peeling off the wall in the hall, but it was a very nice stay, breakfast was... I stayed here for 1 night in a refurbished room and was really impressed. The room was lovely, really clean and modern. The freestanding bath in the bedroom was a great addition too. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and there was lots to choose from on the breakfast menu. I'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed in this hotel whilst returning from holiday. The only real perks were the free wi-fi and free parking. From the outside, it looks quite pleasant and has a unique garden to visit. The room was something to behold, looking very much uncared for, lacked a central light, and may have been cleaned in a hurry. The single bed was... More

Oh dear, not good. First impression - lumps of wallpaper missing from the walls as we walked to our room. Room dark, no central light, needs a good refurb, could have been cleaner, dead fly on the chair, spider's web in the window, kettle not emptied since last occupant, and pretty gross, bits came out of it when I emptied... There was 8 of us for a birthday meal. Some had steak which was good. I had the gourmet burger which was lovely. Service bad at times cos the waitress had a lot of guests to look after. Nice light setting though. Enjoyed it and the garden was a lovely place to go to after the meal.
