Presently surprised, room was very clean, staff were friendly and the food was ok. We booked a room with a package deal, 3 course meal, breakfast and a bottle of wine. We also had a balcony and a whirlpool bath. Definitely value for money.

Stayed here for the 3rd time on 'Mystery' weekend (come on National Holidays- there is no 'mystery' in where we will be staying overnight anymore!) Didn't think it could get any worse... but it has! Once again we had to change rooms due to the overpowering smell of cigarettes (in a non-smoking room!) Positive points...the carpet was fairly new in...

crikey this place is a dump. its like stepping back in time 30 years, but there wear and tear is still there. lots of people have suggested renovating, frankly i think that would be a waste of time. there is nothing worth saving about this place. I knew it would be bad on the drive up to it, having seen...

I dj'd a wedding here a while ago. The foyer looks inviting but the rooms are a total state. The food was lacklustre and the staff were running around like headless chickens and didnt have a clue what was going on. Even though the party had hired out the room they kicked everyone out early to the downstairs bar and...

The best aspect of this hotel is the location. Convenient for public transport or for visiting the university. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but the rest of the hotel could do with an update. It seems a theme of Coventry budget hotels that they are time-dated to the 1970s in terms of style and decor.

Hotel room was clean comfortable and warm - nothing to complain about The carvery was excellent - plenty to eat and a good variety Disappointed in the table arrangements as we weren't allocated a specific table so there was a scramble at meal times to get a seat especially when there was 2 ladies sat at a 6 seater table...

30 years ago the De Vere as it then was had a good reputation and was considered a nice hotel. The Britannia as it is now known hasn't been refurbished in 30 years and it now looks incredibly lack lustre. The rooms are large and you can occasionally get a bargain rate which makes the poor condition palatable. On this...

Good hotel, large room, had a pleasant stay. There was only one con : we have booked Double room but on arrival there was only a Twin room available. It's not a big problem to call a person before check in and offer a twin room at a lower price or something to compensate that issue. 93 Quids for a...
