The best thing about this place is its location - my room overlooked a garden and trees, yet is close to university, Edgbaston and local amenities. The focus is mainly in groups and there is no dinner at weekends apart from functions - Friday night dinner was only a buffet for this reason too. So, the dinner was rather expensive... More

It is a similar price to some city centre hotels which offer a higher standard of accommodation, but I needed to be at the University first thing so felt happier staying on-site rather than risking public transport. The room I stayed in was in definite need of modernisation (beige bathroom items, beige marble-look-formica etc. you don't need planning permission to... More

At a time when student residents have gone "luxury", this accommodation holds to the traditional University values of poor paintwork weak showers and generally tired presentation. When you can get a well presented Travelodge for £40, this is poor value at nearly twice the price. Positives: location (that's it) - it's on the campus. So if you're here for a... More

This was my third time visiting and so far it has been the best stay here. It's always been pleasant and this time I was in Peter Scott House. It had nice garden views and the room was clean and bright. The wifi has also been upgraded and works excellently. This is my go to hotel when I'm down at... More

Does what it says on the tin. Comfy bed, spacious room for a business stay and all your main essentials in place. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest with sticky marks on the taps. Reception staff seemed passable with all guests, not personal or friendly, just passable. Breakfast staff gave a lovely welcome in the morning and the food was good.

Stayed here recently on an overnight trip to Birmingham. Located a fair distance from city centre- I got the train to University and walked about 15 mins- probably not the safest to do at night alone as a portion is along a poorly lit road. Check in procedure easy and efficient. Room is an ex-dorm, reminds me of college days.... More

Stayed in your hotel on May 11th, the staff were so helpful, well mannered they couldn't be more attentive. Will defiantly return. Thank you so much from the welsh gang. If I'm in Birmingham it will be the place I chose to stay. Our evening meal was excellent, breakfast was buffet and everything was hot and fresh. Thanks to all... More

Really struggled to find the place as there's no clear signage. Reception was ok - not particularly friendly on arrival. Room is clean but a little dated - not the same standard as a new premier or holiday inn but then the cost is lower (and includes free breakfast which was ok). Great place is visiting the campus as it's... More

The staff were kind and very accommodating. Room was clean and tidy. Restaurant prepared good meals and it had a nice on site bar. Conveniently located near the hospital and university. Rested well as it was quiet. Really nice area to take a run in the morning as well.
