Though the rooms are clearly converted from halls of residence they are clean, and have what is needed. No aircon, but they provide fans. No in-house gym, but free access to the pool gym and sauna a short walk away. Food is unexceptional, but unobjectionable. The training rooms are very nice, well maintained and well supplied. What was most noticeable... More

A nicely appointed conference type hotel. Room comfortable. However, the night was very rainy and the metal on the exterior of the hotel led to a lot of noise in the room. Breakfast food was fine but arriving in the breakfast area it was not clear where to go and what to do. There did not seem to be enough... More

I was staying in Birmingham for my son's 21st, having getting off to a bad start at another Birmingham hotel we were lucky to book into the conference Aston Hotel, have to say this was a very lovely hotel, minutes walk from the center, as it is based on the university campus we may have been a bit suspicious but... The building itself is a little off, very obviously a converted University building but it's not entirely clear it's the hotel on entering due to the standard reception desk. The poor service on the desk doesn't exactly help either. The rooms themselves are very clean and tidy with decent facilities and a good size. Ordered the room service which was... More

I stayed here on a business trip. The room was very small & hadn't been cleaned, there were hair grips on the floor and it was dusty. The bathroom was tiny but useable. There was a lot of noise in the evening, you could hear people walking up & down the corridor and the doors banging closed. The food was... More

I had dinner in the restaurant even though I didn't stay here and the service was very good, with friendly and helpful staff. The starter of lamb koftas was good and a reasonable portion but although the main pork dish was very tasty it came with only 4 very small potatoes and rather underwhelmed the plate. The bread was fine... More

We stayed at the Aston Hotel 2 nights as we were going to a concert at the O2. What a find it was, standard of accommodation was excellent, first class food and very helpful efficient staff. They is even chilled water machines available 24 hours a day which is great for the warmer weather. The hotel was spotless, choice of... More

I arrived early and checked in....a guy call Justin at the front desk was so friendly and explained the services offered. Room is nice and clean lovely tv easy to use. The bathroom had nice flowing water. Internet is awful and phone reception is really poor.

So this was the cheapest hotel I could find for a Saturday night. The checking in process was a bit long but overall okay. However we were handed towels as the room wasn't prepared. That was the reason given to us. The queen bed was comfy and the room was open and spacious. There is no air conditioning but a... More
