Me and my girlfriend stayed here on a Saturday night after we'd been to see the red hot chilli peppers and it cost £95. What an absolute dive. The hallways didn't have any working lights and looked like a building site. The light fitting on the wall in the room had live terminals exposed with no cover on. The curtain...

A bit shabby chic, but undergoing a programme of refurbishment, this huge hotel has lots of period features and amazing service, posting back a post item to me promptly after a stay. Nice and warm when I stayed but just a touch of mildew on the wall in the room due to the original sash windows, otherwise perfect for the...

Husband booked a cheap night here. After reading the reviews I was very worried. The hotel front is impressive, so is the ground floor. We were on the 4th floor. Room was clean but with a slight under current of feet !( cleaners need to know how to combat that one. ) The room itself was clean and tidy. It...

Stayed here for 1 night. Terrible stay here. Building Looks impressive , but it's in a run down area but is walkable to town. Rooms were tiny, beds awful, and room was absolutely freezing. I shall not be returning!

Starting with car park very poor, preferred Street parking, it looked safer.staff fine.bed sheets stained.heating inadequate, panel type in this particular room, shower pressure poor in morning. Almost forgot bed treibble ,springs sticking out,all in all massive face lift needed. Paid £85 for sat night stay, quite central though.look elsewhere is my advice. On the positive side 'Cleary's bar 'is only short walk away,very...

We have just returned from spending a night in Birmingham, having stayed at the Paragon Hotel. Unfortunately, we did not read reviews as the pictures on this hotel looked very nice. Don't know where these pictures were taken, but our rooms certainly looked nothing like them, as our rooms were small and shabby. No central heating, no double glazing, old...

I booked a twin room to share with my daughter, and on approach it was clear that this was a run down area, with much litter and graffiti about the streets. I was unable to find the car park, but was directed by reception to an under cover car park, which looked like a local fly tipping hotspot. Not to...

A nice building but in a shady area, all surrounding buildings covered in graffiti and litter everywhere, the staff were pleasant and friendly, the room was small but it's a budget hotel so what do you expect, however the room was freezing not acceptable they did send up a maintenance man to seal the window which had been boarded up,...

I booked without reading the reviews as the location and price seemed reasonable. We arrived on a Friday afternoon found the car park but was greeted by the sight of a windscreen repair firm attending to a car, copious beer bottles on the wall and rubbish everywhere! So decided even though the street didn't look much better it was the...
