There are not enough words to describe this horrible hotel! Just do not book it, simple as that. We were warned not to eat there because of numerous food poisoning, the rooms and corridors are dirty...I am wondering what sanitary inspection is doing and how come it is still opened..

My partner was supposed to be staying at the Paragon hotel last week while working at a convention at the NEC (Wednesday - Saturday) but he called me after the first night to say that he would be coming home and had made arrangements for work. The reason he decided to come home? Well, at around 4am, a drunk man... More

When you arrive it is a lovely old building, that's where the good feeling ends. Walking to my room the walls are dirty and the carpets are all bunched up and unclean. The corridors smell of damp and are dark when walking through at night. I had booked a double room, in my room there were 2 singles pushed together... More

Last minute option to stay in a hotel, going by the pictures thought it was lovely for the price... Staff on reception seemed nice but the outside area seemed dodgy and rough was scared to walk around by myself at night. The springs in the mattress are awful, i'd played a game of rugby during the day so i was... More

First the positives, friendly staff and secure parking. Now the negatives, arriving and finding used needles on the pavement is the first clue that this is not an area you want to be in. Shower was not attached to the wall properly, and there was no hot water. Was promised it would be fixed and indeed the shower was attached... More

it was an ok experience very old fashioned it did the job but not the usual we experience. we were satisfied, the staff was very helpful and courteous. we were put on the 4th floor so the lift was handy as my wife cannot do lots of stairs. my fault this time for not requesting a ground or first floor... The carpets are disgusting and coming up. Half of the lights don't work. The shower is mouldy. The mattresses are worn out. The curtains are hanging off. The walls are damp. Avoid at all costs. If this was £20 it would be acceptable.

Do not stay here. Disgusting, dirty room, no lights, faulty door and stale smell. I do not know how this place is still open. As you enter the hotel the reception looks ok, but as soon as you go up onto the floors...

All the other reviews say it all. I have never seen such an awful hotel. Rooms smell and are filthy. Holes in walls, dodgy stains and knackered beds. I did not feel safe here. Staff were actually nice and I felt very sorry for them.

Just to summarise really. We stayed here as a place to rest our heads while on a training course in the city. Don't be fooled by the pretty architecture and the website fools you into believing it is actually nice... It's not! Dirty, rundown, smelly Couldn't open the cracked windows for air Next door smoking in their bathroom which came... More
