If ever I'm visiting Birmingham City this is my favourite place to stay. All the rooms are very spacious and quirky. Always get the massive bathroom with walk in wet room type shower and the free standing bath. Air conditioning was excellent being it was so hot. Also live the really comfortable bed and bed linen - cool and crisp.

We visited early evening for dinner and had good service throughout our visit there. We had some time before our dinner booking so had a couple of drinks in the bar. As we were the only customers it was quite obvious whose drinks they were making. I had ordered a cocktail and when it was mixed two of the other... More

Called in for lunch with my mum. She's been a few times before and has always raved about the place. We went off the prix fixe menu, and I can't get over how good the service and food was for the price! I opted for the fish soup, moules and creme brûlée. I've spent a lot of time in France,... More

Yesterday [23rd August] I was at the Hotel du Vin Birmingham with my friend for a birthday treat, indulging ourselves in their ‘champagne afternoon tea’. My husband and I had previously celebrated both my birthday and our wedding anniversary in this way – both very pleasurable occasions especially as I am gluten intolerant and so many establishments provide only at... Stayed overnight for business, room nice, bathroom good size, with great shower. Only negative, was it was quite cold during the night, no bathroom door, which made the room colder. Had dinner in the hotel, really nice meal, place was very busy and some people left as they felt weren't being served quick enough.

We like the building and the decor - it's a Victorian building with a distressed French "fin de siecle" interior (in my non-expert opinion). It's maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but it is well done and I find it sympathetic and a nice place to spend a Sunday lunchtime. The French market platter is delicious, with good quality cold... Room was average for price tbh also the mini bar was poorly stocked not restated daily although staff at front desk was nice most of the time and central location wasn't the worst du vin but definetly not the best most of our 3 days were spent away from the hotel in all fairness but over priced for sure

My husband booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary....we had a double room on the third floor . Very quiet and quirky little staircase leading to our en suite. The staff were very helpful taking our case to the room as we arrived in birmingham well before check in. We spent the day shopping and a lovely evening meal in... More

I stayed here on the 11th and 12th of August this year the night before my wedding and on the evening of my wedding . The rooms were OK and the female staff were lovely . However we had an awful experience on the night of our wedding when we came back to the hotel we decided to go for... More

It seems to be a theme of this group that you should not be able to see much of the premises or anything else! I found my room on the 3rd floor so gloomy that it was depressing and any spare time was spent in the bar which, although still dark, at least had other people in it. My room... More
