Got a good rate for an overnight stay here smack bang in the middle of Birmingham. This was obviously due to the building works and I was aware of this when I booked. Room not ready on arrival but given a complimentary cuppa which was welcomed. Slight delay only and when we got to our rooms we were pleasantly surprised.... More

This is the second time I have stayed in this Hotel for business and will never stay here again. I would say they are halfway through the major building construction, lifts not working, public areas closed even the main reception entrance closed and boarded off. First thing we were greeted with was the smell of urine outside where is boarded... More

When booking concert tickets middle last year, my friend and i chose this hotel due to location and booked well in advance..... At the time there was absolutely no mention on the website or on the booking confirmation of major building works at the hotel planned for during our stay. The noise during the night was appalling. Room was boiling... More

The Albany bar is fine for meetings. We were able to do what we needed to in comfort. We were, however, surrounded by lots of others also gaming meetings and some people carrying out job interviews, so it's certainly not quiet. Would I return? Possibly, if I needed an easy, quick, informal place to meet in central Birmingham which didn't... More

After finding the car park which is a two minute walk to the holiday inn, we could see the hotel, which is fairly typical with the rest of the buildings in the centre of Birmingham. Check in was a pleasant affair. We were given the choice of rooms and advised that the back off the hotel maybe a little quieter,... More

Arriving in Birmingham on a Saturday night with 90% of the roads shut/ diverted and you haven't updated your Tom Tom for 4 years is not a recipe for happiness. But when the hotel let you sneak into the restaurant at closing time and serve up a first class steak and crisp bottle of Shiraz you know you've chosen a... More

Stayed here just one night in Birmingham for a conference. Not bad price with a clean room and mostly comfortable night. Buffet breakfast and reasonably chatty staff. Felt safe on my own and great location.

The hotel we stayed did not have it's own car park. We were advised by the hotel to park in the NCP car park that was just accross the road and that we would get this at 50% off. After returning to our car after our two night stay we found our car had been broken into. From the car... More

The hotel is just round the corner from New Street Station, main shopping areas and has an NCP car park at discounted rate for guests just behind it. So no matter how you are travelling it is a good facility to get to. Transport links also mean that if you are going to the NEC, LG Arena or Birmingham International... More
