We stayed on a Saturday night because we had tickets for Strictly Live at the Utilita Arena. The staff are very helpful and work very hard. However the management need to review their staffing levels. The Reception staff were friendly and efficient. I had called earlier to ask about parking. We went into the bar about 3pm and were served a coffee by Andrew. He was friendly and professional. He showed an interest in what we were doing that evening. We ate in the restaurant at 5pm because we wanted to have plenty of time to get to the show. The menu was not extensive but we found food we liked. The quality of the food was good. The service was fine during the meal. The restaurant was not too busy but there was only one waitress on. It did start to get busier and we struggled to get to get her attention to settle our bill. Meanwhile another couple complained they had not had their main course. They also needed to get to the show. Management came into the restaurant but did not help the staff. On returning to the hotel after the show, there was a huge queue for the bar because Andrew was the only bar man on. He was working incredibly hard and trying to train a new glass collector at the same time. They had stopped serving coffee and cocktails at 10pm which disappointed many people. 2 managers came into the bar and told Andrew off because there had been complaints. Andrew said that this directive had come from his line manager. I feel it was unprofessional for managers to speak to him like this in front of customers. Both the bar and the lounge in reception were full of customers drinking but they called time at 11pm. Many people were disappointed. Our room was fine but we had to complain about our shower head which was full of mould. At breakfast there were long queues. Again it was understaffed and tables were not getting cleared or food items / condiments replenished .

Excellent location for the ICC. Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning in the rooms. Excellent breakfast - buffet style with hot food, pastries, fruit, cereal, toast and a selection of hot and cold drinks including fresh fruit smoothie. Secure parking below the hotel (payable separately via JustPark). Friendly and welcoming staff. Very good value for money.

Very comfortable 2 night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Brindley Place Birmingham. Trip was through work so didn’t pay and can’t comment as to value. However room was very comfortable, well laid out. Temperature was good. Bathroom was nice and clean with an excellent shower. Had everything I required. A couple of minor points, there was a bit of external noise but I think this is from temporary construction work. And the shower did pulse hot water a couple of times which caught me by surprise. I didn’t use the hotel restaurant however some colleagues did and experienced long delays for their food and several items not available on the menu, however staff offered them complimentary drinks and they were satisfied with this. Lots of things nearby. Including a Sainsbury’s local, pubs, restaurants and 2 x Wetherspoons for the budget minded.

Staff were excellent - it was a birthday get together with friends and there was even a little happy birthday card and chocolates in my room on arrival. Reception staff singled out for great customer service, but bar and breakfast was great too. Lovely and clean rooms, comfortable bed. All in all would recommend. Handy location too.

Perfect location to stay in Birmingham, right in the city centre, near broad street and great service from all staff. Especially good breakfast. Room a bit small but very clean, same for the bathroom.
