Our second stay at the Burlington. The room (Executive King) was full of character and very spacious. Plenty of cupboard space - very comfy large bed makes all the difference. Nice to have the robes and slippers provided for comfort. Cleanliness was of a high standard. We had the full breakfast on both mornings and service was good. It is...

I wasnt intending to stay here again after a poor experience last time. However, the convenience of the really good location of the hotel right near the shops and station swung it. Positives: Location as mentioned Friendly staff wonderful old building Reception area and bars are pleasant Could be better: Bedrooms remind me of a care home for older people...

Great location just opposite New street station. Classical interior with a feel of the early 20th century. My room however was a little disappointing, little being the word. I'd booked a single room which in this case meant a single bed, snug room and only two milk cartons for drinks-a little mean. But other than that and enjoyable stay with...

I couldn't fault this hotel at all it's perfect location and gorgeous classic look. Me and my girlfriend checked in on Saturday and were given a room without a bath as soon as I called down to reception without any questioning we were re allocated to a amazing room with a huge bath tub! All the staff were so friendly...

We stayed here recently and while it is a great location and nice hotel the room we had was on noisy side, 305. The trams run to side of hotel, till late which is ok and restart early at around 2am the tram line cleaners are out. The double glazing is ineffective and the windows do not shut properly, the one...

We went back to the Burlington this time was our forth stay, best location in Birmingham to stay near the station, shopping, and tram. This time we met up friends we had not seen for six month. As usual Richard W put us in rooms next to each other, which made things easy for us to get the most out...

Never stopped here before opposite new station great location. The hotel is lovely old but very quaint, the staff are lovely and the baccuss bar is excellent. Our room is large and little dated but it has character and is spotless and the beds are fab. Room had an iron what was a life saver as I crumpled my better...

This was the Midland Hotel – one of the old ‘grand’ railway hotels – now highly polished and generally well maintained. Well located immediately opposite the new New Street Station (now named Grand Central and an airport-like shopping spectacle). Pleasant staff but poor communication between the front desk and housekeeping. Room was not well checked between guests. Excellent restaurant –...

Lovely rooms right beside the German Market and station but surprisingly quiet at nigh. Spacious, well appointed rooms with great facilities and a lovely bath with great water pressure (so important). We attended a work Christmas party here and it was great fun, bad DJ but a nice meal. We didn't have breakfast but our stay was brilliant and the...

Firstly be aware it's impossible to park here and the trek through New St station from the NCP is exhausting. This summarises this hotel, once a lovely building, another city centre midland, that time has passed by. Hemmed in by road works and trams it's central, but you are trapped! The rooms are big and airy and it's a lovely...
