The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of Birmingham and a few minutes walk from the ICC which was key for me. the bars and restaurants of the canal are also very close. The staff were very friendly, efficient and really wanted to please, I found them by far, the greatest asset of this hotel. The... More

Raw chicken, refused tea and coffee and rubbish. Locked out of the conference room, undrinkable cloudy water in the room even after running the tap for ages, i could hear the man in the next room going for a wee. Room was a decent size but decor very dated. All in all not a good experience for me. Would not... More

I'm only giving Copthorne a 3* rating because when we stayed here at 4am a guest decided to drunkingly slam the door about 10 times! She was also shouting at the top of her lungs for about 10 minutes too, we had to be up early so this was very annoying. Also, the car park was very tiny and we... More

We stayed for one night only or a 60th birthday party elsewhere in the city. Our room was comfortable if a tad small. Parking onsite is on a first come first served basis so get there early. We arrived ahead of normal check in time but our room was available so no problem and plenty of parking available. Whilst waiting... More

Stayed during a business event for 3 days - chosen for convenient central location but very disappointed that the hotel seemed in seious need of a complete refurbushment - dull and lifeless decoration, dim lighting and worn carpets all added together to make it an unpleasant environment. Reception staff helpful enough - guiding me in as the access by car... More

Room was very depressing. Noisy & scruffy. Double bed was made up of 2 single mattresses/ beds bolted together; with one mattress not on the same level as the other. Hotel has clearly seen the other 300 odd poor/terrible reviews on Tripadvisor but chosen not to do anything about its run down state. Shame, for a hotel in such a... More

I recently spent a week here. The staff at reception were pleasant and helpful, as were all the staff. However the room, whilst a reasonable size, felt slightly down at heel and, talking of heels, had a rather feety aroma. I was able to park the car under the car park for the week and the hotel was only 5... More

I have stayed at this hotel for work many times over the last 10 years and the standard has dropped badly. I stayed here with my wife for a leisure break in Birmingham last weekend and didn't mind paying the £130 for a room only, so long as the standard was good. The room looked more like a 2 star... I stopped last night for work today. I was disappointed to hear that despite pre-booking parking that it was full on arrival. Apparently it works on a first come first serve basis. If that is the case then they should not offer a meaningless prebook parking system. I was told I would have to park in the NCP. The Hotel... More

I have stayed here a number of times, but I was unaware that there are major works being undertaken all round the hotel and its surroundings, therefore the old car park has gone, there was no where to park, had to try and find a car park somewhere else, as the hotel sits in the middle of a large roundabout,...
