The murder mystery was enjoyable with a very good cast. We had a suite and the standard was very good. The staff were all friendly & helpful. I have food allergies and the meal provided at the Murder Mystery event fully met my requirements.

Stayed for one night for a wedding, the wedding its self was lovely and the food was great! Our room was a long work through cold and dark corridors, if you have walking difficulties make sure your room is close to reception as ours was right at the other side! Our room was freezing and had a very strange odur...

This was booked for a surprise for my 88 year old mother. Food was lovely BUT there was no atmosphere, we had business meetings going on either side of us, we were placed next to open double doors to the rest of the hotel so it was draughty and cold, top up drinks were not offered until we had long...

The staff were really nice. The hotel takes ghastly to a whole new level. Ignore the website, the photos are hugely inaccurate . Diners will be met by a very low quality version of what is shown in the brochure. The food is grim. One would think it had been cooked by a home economics pupil. The rooms are beyond...

Our first visit and booked a family birthday Sunday lunch. Staff were very attentive and food portions were on the large side. Even without the 2for1 main courses the value for money was fantastic. Wonderful little gem of a restaurant 5mins from the centre of Birmingham, will definitely visit again soon.

Nowhere on their website do they say that the hotel is unsuitable for disabled or people with poor mobility. Clean rooms and lovely white towels but the showers are so poor it's takes for ever to have your shower. You actually go upstairs then downstairs to get to a ground floor room. And the stair hand rail is very awkward...

I pre-booked, in person, on Saturday 14th January, an Afternoon Tea for Monday, 16th January, 2017 reserving a specific table and time of arrival being 3.00 p.m. On arrival at 2.45 pm no reception staff on duty which, left me to wander around the hotel looking for any staff. Eventually, an affable but scruffy, large man appeared and eventually showed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome and traditional hospitality awaits guests at the Plough and Harrow Hotel Birmingham. Built in 1704, originally as a wayside inn, the hotel has over the centuries become steeped in history and is recalled by many as being one of the most popular places to stay in Birmingham during the last few decades. The red brick Victorian architecture of the original building together with the large garden, lawns and plentiful car parking serves to set the Plough & Harrow Hotel apart from other Birmingham hotels This 45 bedroom hotel brings a country house style to the city with elegant & intimate lounges, a restaurant & terrace overlooking the garden. In recent years the hotel has become a very popular wedding reception venue in the city & also offers happy couple the chance to get married & hold the reception in the same place.
