I have been dying for a trip to Birmingham for a day of shopping for a while so after looking around for ages I booked this hotel as it was cheap, had parking and was in walking distance of the Bullring. After suriving the long drive from Cardiff to Birmingham I pulled into the hotel, I was shocked and confused on how I was meant to gain entry to the hotels 'car park. The entry to the car park was so tight I have badly dented and scratched my car which means the world to me. I cant fathom how they expect people to get in and out of this tiny car park. After trying to keep calm after being very upset with the car park incident,we went up to the ground floor to check in. If you're new to this hotel, you will be very lost like myself. There isn't a area that says its a'reception' and if you're lucky enough to find a member of staff to check in, good luck! The member of staff who finally checked us in was a lovely girl, but after paying cash for the parking we had a knock at our door to say that I hadn't paid for parking even though only 5 minutes prior I handed her the £12 in cash to cover the parking. After arrival into over room on the 4th floor, the room was what we expected for the price. However it does state on the website that the room comes with a fridge. I had brought with me a bottle of wine, but our room came with NO fridge for me to put it in. I had to fill the sink up with cold water to keep our drinks cool in the hot weather we have been having. The one plus side to this hotel is that it literally is within 5 minutes walking distance of the Bullring shopping centre. The bathroom is a wet room (literally). The shower goes more hot and cold than my ex boyfriend was. After trying to have a shower while being blasted with hot and cold water (shower couldn't make its mind up) you have to hold on to dear life to get out of there safely as the whole entire floor of the bathroom gets soaking wet. In hot temperatures the room gets very uncomfortable and warm but lucky enough it came with a fan. We was supplied with ear plugs which I just thought was a joke until you can hear every man and his dog walk around at 4am. With our lack of sleep, I was quite eager to get up at 6 30 am to check out, again the lady who checked us out was lovely. I cant fault how nice the staff are it's just lack of staff.

nice hotel in the heart of birmingham city centre and within walking distance of new street railway station & the bull ring shopping centre.located next to the chinese quarter with a number of restaurants.room was moderate in size, clean & comfortable.table fan in the room was a major plus as weather was hot.breakfast was satisfactory, staff approachable and mostly pleasant.underground parking was available but only just.if you exit after paying for the 24 hour, you may still be left with no space to park when you return in the evening.that is an issue. in summary-a decent hotel in birmingham city centre.would we return?not sure.

I was somewhat surprised that there was no reception desk. I was met on entry by a member of staff with a mobile. I was checked in and given a card key at a gadget on the wall. No phone in the rooms, you are asked to use WhatsApp if you need anything. Room basic but very clean on the 2nd floor. I arrived on a Tuesday and had booked for the show at the Hippodrome the Wednesday night. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the theatre. The Bullring shopping is a 10minute walk and other attractions in the city were in reasonable walking distances. Library, Museum & Art Gallery and the canal where I took a leasurely hour canal boat trip. This hotel is very Central so would recommend it for sightseeing. Unfortunately my room 238 was right above a night club and disco area and drumming went on until gone 2am. The hotel does provide earplugs which I found uncomfortable, however after mentioning to staff, i was moved to the floor above, - room 312 which was quiet. Staff were very helpful & I would especially like to mention Ingrid who was so helpful and friiendly with a big smile every day. She is a credit to the company. Good value for money.

We stayed here for a reunion with friends as the hotel location seemed perfect for what we needed. We booked a twin room with an early check in from 12pm as we were travelling from the other side of the uk from 7am. We had a long tiring journey as the day was getting hotter and hotter. We arrived at 1pm (meeting friends at 2pm) to be told our early check in was not ready and no rooms were available. We obviously weren’t happy as we definitely needed to drop our cases and freshen up but weren’t able to do so. It’s rather disappointing and confusing to offer a early check in but not have it available on the day? If check out is 12pm how can they not have one clean room by 1pm?. We were able to leave our cases behind but we weren’t happy. The hotel is facing the bullring centre so great for shopping. When we finally checked in later that evening we were given a cosy room on the first floor. The rooms are very basic but good value for money. The beds however were placed in an awkward position and they slide super easy so one of the beds was almost always blocking the door. Breakfast was splendid and plentiful and Ingrid was a credit to the hotel. Such a friendly lady and very happy and attentive.
