#10 of 60 B&Bs / Inns in Birmingham
The Old Farm Hotel, one of the oldest buildings in Bournville, was part of the Bournbrook Hall estate before the Cadbury family bought the land and moved their factory from central Birmingham to the fields of Bournbrook in 1879. The Old Farm is now run as a hotel and event venue and features 12 rooms offering a distinct ‘home-from-home’ feel. We offer a choice of single, double and family rooms, all are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities.

We had two rooms - one was lovely! Clean and bright, however it was very warm since the water pipes ran through it but it was great, however the second room was not so great. It was small and dreary. If we’d only had the first room, I’d give this place 4 stars. If we’d only had the second room, I’d give it 2! We got a nice welcome when we came in and the hotel is very securely locked up which made us feel safe. It has a beautiful back deck and outdoor area but sadly we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy it. Good location for Cadbury World.

we needed a place which was close to Bournville for a wedding. The rooms are a bit small ( the bathrooms more so)but perfectly comfortable for a short stay. A nod to Claire(I think) for her helpful , jovial friendly service. I also like the touch of offering us a drink when our rooms had not been cleaned one day when they should have been. Breakfast had all you might wish for and was very efficiently and politely served. There is an old manorhouse close by called Selly Manor , about a 5 minute walk. It´s a delight and the guides are not invasive but very knowledgeable.

Stayed for a couple of nights in an area well known to us as we lived in the area many years ago. The room was well presented although the mattresses were feeling a bit tired. We also had problems getting hot water for the shower and hand bowl so cool washing was the norm. I'm no lover of pre ordering breakfasts the night before. I read that the hotel wants to serve freshly cooked items at a time to suit guests but I'm really not sure what I want for breakfast at 10pm the night before so I tend to over order. Is that what the hotel wants? I also feel compelled to attend for breakfast at the specified time and my routine may change. Finally, I would add that the staff were very pleasant and the hotel is kept in very good order. For those without transport, Bournville Railway Station is within walking distance and buses pass close by. I'd stay there again.

Stayed overnight with my daughters for my cousins special birthday event at 'Cadbury's Club' and the hotel and staff were warm, welcoming, served excellent food, and had lovely facilities too. Enjoyed our drinks on the terrace in the pretty garden and would certainly stay again.
