I was staying at the Salamander Guest House during the heat wave in July 2022 that disrupted many things in the UK. One of those things was my train back to London. Not only was Alex patient and helpful while I tried to figure out what to do, she even offered to (and did) drive me to another town in order to catch a train there. It was so kind and I will always be grateful! Besides that, it's a lovely house and the room was clean and neat.

We stayed here overnight and were extremely happy with all aspects of the b&b. Alex was amazing, lovely and helpful - available immediately if needed and the place was spotless and modern. It’s in an idea location, so close to everything - we can’t recommend the salamander guesthouse enough and will definitely return!

Excellent guest house, clean, tidy and Alex couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasant. She was knowledgable with the area and restaurants to visit. Alex is a real credit to the family run business. We will be back. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

The Salamander combines a helpful gracious owner with perfect location. Clean room and accommodations My husband and I were ready to walk the Cotswold Way. The owner knew that it was a bank holiday, researched possibilities and was helpful to us in getting us to Chipping Campden

My daughter and I had a lovely room. Very clean. Alex met us upon arrival and gave us great tips for seeing the town as well as seeing two Shakespeare performances. Convenient to town and to the Royal Shakespeare Theater (10 minute walk). Easy to access by train.

The location of this guest house is perfect, we could park the car, leave it there and walk to the centre of Stratford. We got to visit a great market, shops and restaurants and the food festival was on that weekend which was great. The owner was really friendly and so helpful with where to eat and what to see. A comfortable stay, just a little noisy on the night but it didn't ruin our weekend.

Having made the egregious mistake of travelling on a Sunday (with all the usual rigamarole of replacement bus services), Alex's welcoming presence was a much-needed pick-me-up after a long and frustrating day. She anticipated my needs and was very thorough in explaining everything I needed to know about my room and the town. Such a lovely, friendly lady! She upgraded my room free of extra charge, too! The room itself was clean and immaculate, very comfortable and well-maintained, and had up-to-date facilities including Netflix and charging ports for mobile phones. Unfortunately there was no breakfast service due to covid restrictions, but there is no doubt in my mind that Alex's high standards and attention to detail will be employed in that area once things ease up a bit. The location was second to none as well, only a few minutes walk to the town centre. I would highly recommend this guest house, and will certainly come for another visit the next time I am in that neck of the woods.

Salamander is a small but charming guest house. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Room size good, comfortable beds, good bathroom. The guest house is on a fairly busy road, but there are limited parking spaces accessed by a rather narrow driveway. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

We was welcomed by Alex who was very informative and wanted to make sure we had the best time, nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable, we had a double room with a twin room, ideal for 3 friends having a well earned break away. Location is brilliant, not far to walk to the town and was close to several tourist attractions. Alex told us good places to eat, we had several activities booked and Alex told us how to get to each one. We would definitely visit again.
